Funky pan-Asian fare in a trendy dining room with geisha murals plus sake & tipples at a copper bar.

very nice establishment, very popular and noisy bar scene with the younger yuppies but a delightful dining experience regardless. the servers were attentive and friendly, and the portion sizes were hearty and flavorful. the fall sangria was amazing, and $1 from each drink sold is donated to a wonderful cause. be warned: i made the mistake of ordering a “handheld” tuna thing without asking what it was and you will end up with what is essentially a sushi taco the server went back and brought me a plate of some kind of tuna roll which was equally as tasty as the sushi taco thing. definitely would come back again.

The Spicy Tuna Poke Bowl was a total hit for my office lunch! The tuna was incredibly fresh, the rice was perfectly seasoned, and I was impressed by the generous portion, presentation, and variety of toppings. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a high-quality lunch delivery. I’ll definitely be ordering this again!

Me and my wife walked in and everything started off great. The hostess was really kind and sweet and she was able to accommodate us with a great table. However, everything went to crap once we were assigned our waiter. She did not try to be friendly, as she rushed us with our order from the very beginning. She then proceeded to stop at everyone else’s table and acknowledge them but didn’t even try to engage with our table; I couldn’t even recall her smiling at us. Not once did she even ask us how we were doing. If she had of, she would have realized that my wife didn’t get her appetizers yet, and I had to flag down a bust boy just for a refill of water (that was not even cold). We peeked our head trying to find our waiter and she was literally eating with another employee, while we were left there unintended! My wife’s frustration with the waiter resulted with us requesting a manager. Here’s the kicker. The manager was the same lady that was eating with our waiter. We weren’t stupid, it was obvious that the manager and our “so called” waiter were “buddies”. The manager came to us with fake empathy and didn’t offer to do anything about it. “I’ll just talk to her”. Well lady what is that going to do with us and our experience? How about offer a discount for the disrespectfulness? Oh sorry, and the food…I ordered the crab Rangoons for the appetizer. Crab Rangoons were slightly overcooked and the filling inside tasted like celery! Who makes celery based crab Rangoons? Yuck. I got the vegetable Lo Mein and added chicken and shrimp. The meat was good but the noodles had no seasoning what so ever. I got an old fashioned that was decent, but was not strong enough. Bottom line, this place is racist! Don’t come here if you’re not European. Don’t say I didn’t tell ya!

The time has come for a review after making my fourth visit.
Dear Fat Baby,
Your atmosphere never fails to put me at ease. The warm yellow lighting that accompanies a modern, earthy, but rustic setting is great. I have no complaints about the service as you executed thoroughly on all the check boxes to ensure I was well taken care of.
The boa buns are great. the dumplings are great. The spicy chicken ramen was the catalyst that made me go ‘oh wow’ and then ‘I need to give this place the time of day on a review’. The only reason the food gets four stars is because I feel like the sushi rolls are trying to do to much. That might be a personal take but at least the quality of the raw fish is good. Americanized sushi to say the least.
I will be back. I recommend.
Yours truly, sac.

Absolutely love this place. It’s wild that it’s a phenomenal sushi spot with solid cocktails, but it’s also a hangout spot for college kids. People gather around the massive center bar to watch the game while larger parties sit along the walls enjoying a nice dinner. Highly recommend, but just remember it’ll be loud inside due to the bar crowd.

Service was very slow on a quiet Friday night. From my seat I had a clear view into the kitchen, and while we were seated right away and able to order quickly from a friendly and knowledgeable server, we then waited nearly an hour for 4 of our 5 dishes to arrive. I could see my pad Thai sitting on the counter for around 15 minutes before it was brought out, so it was lukewarm at best by the time it reached the table, and while it tasted okay, it clearly would have been better served hot. The final dish, the beef noodle, came about 15 minutes after everything else. Overall, the food was good but not great, and the long wait times, the visible delay in the kitchen, and the cold pad Thai really took away from the experience.

We had: Nigiri salmon ; salmon poke bowl ; birria bau buns ; fresh start (with tequila) all very good. Priced decently. Well balanced drinks made by the bar manager.
Service was excellent.
Inside is decorated tastefully. Bathrooms need updating.
Parking not great.

I use to really like fat baby about two years ago, but my orders just kept coming out sloppy and/or incorrect. Today I decide to give it another try and it’s more of the same. My Bao has no toppings, and is super soggy and my fried dumplings look steamed/ not finished. It’s crazy because just the bao and dumplings were $35. You’re charging professional prices but the food does not match it.

Went here for a lunch date and Fat Baby is definitely my go-to sushi place if I’m looking for reasonably-priced, quality sushi. The rolls were extremely fresh, slightly warm/room temp instead of feeling like they were straight out of the fridge like most other places. And it was DELICIOUS. All of our rolls were super flavorful, and there wasn’t too much of any one ingredient over powering any piece. I can’t remember the exact rolls we picked, but I believe 2 of them were the specialty E.T. And Rainbow rolls.
The crab rangoons come in 4 big pieces and are for sure the best I’ve ever had. The crab tastes so fresh, the sauce was delicious. Cant recommend enough. I can not recommend the wagyu bao bun sliders though, it’s a nice idea, but the flavor was lacking and I wished I would gotten something else. 5 stars for everything else though!
I spent about $100 (including tip) for 2 appetizers and 3 rolls. The ambience was very nice, both outside and inside, and out server was attentive but also let us enjoy our moment. 🙂 Would totally go back!

I would have given no star to this one .. as they not even let me eat at restaurant.
I had booking for 7:30pm on 7th Feb which was my birthday. We reached 15 mins late because all the snow and snow storms in Boston .. the host just canceled our table without any call or notification.. and when we reached at the restaurant host just said you are late so we gave up your table and no table available tonight.
We were ready to wait.
This was super rude experience. I understand you are fully booked but still there is way to treat or talk to customers.
