From start to finish, the staff was warm and welcoming. Our server in particular was wonderful—attentive without being overbearing and genuinely helpful throughout the meal. To start, we ordered a whiskey tasting flight and a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, which paired perfectly with what was to come.
For food, we went with the BBQ ribs and a burger, and both were fantastic. The ribs were true fall-off-the-bone—moist, tender, and seasoned just right. They had a slightly crunchy outer layer that added great texture, while the BBQ sauce was light yet still packed with flavor. The coleslaw on the side was crisp, refreshing, and a perfect complement. The burger was equally satisfying—the bun fluffy and soft, the patty thick, juicy, and cooked beautifully.
Beyond the food, the ambiance was cozy and picturesque, ideal for a special occasion. I loved that there were areas to walk around outside, including a garden that appears to supply vegetables for the restaurant, adding to the farm-to-table charm.
Overall, it was a romantic, delicious, and memorable Valentine’s Day at Farmstead—an experience we’d happily repeat.
We ordered the ham sandwiches and shishito peppers to start, then had the chicken entrée and pork chop for dinner. Every bite was incredible, and the chocolate silk pie for dessert was the perfect ending.
We were bragging about this place to people on our wine tour the next day. Can’t wait to come back next time we’re in Napa!
We had so many laughs and a fantastic meal, and we would like to thank Chris for his role in making our evening memorable and special! My friend forgot her water bottle at the table, and I found Chris running around the parking lot trying to find us to return it. I happened to be on my way back in because I had accidentally walked off with one of their napkins. A big thank you to Chris for being an amazing waiter and person! Another thank you to Farmstead for being a consistently fantastic restaurant that focuses on sustainability and high quality food. You are still our favorite restaurant in the Napa Valley!
The roasted beet salad made me start liking beets!
After lunch we like taking a little stroll through their garden.
We started with a special veggie appetizer of that day, their grilled squash which was “cured” prior to grilling. I don’t like squash at all, but I really liked this! Next up was fried chicken which came with an outstanding cole slaw! The fried chicken was tender, though not the best we’ve had (that would be Ad Hoc’s fried chicken), it was pretty good. Their pulled pork sandwich was incredible and the potato salad that came with it was outstanding!
Save room for dessert… they have a nice list of some great options! The day we visited it was beautiful and the weather was mild right when they opened, which was when we arrived, so we sat in their garden. Such a beautiful area with sculpted apple trees creating a natural border.
We’ll definitely return on our next trip out here, but next time we’ll come for dinner, as I’m sure that’s even more amazing than lunch.
The chicken wings are killer! The white sauce is so perfect. And for such a small wing, they feel quite meaty.
Salad was a very refreshing dish in the very dry heat. The dish was balanced so well.
Meatballs hit a home run with their zatar and fresh tomato sauce.
And the crab roll, phenomenal — buttery, crispy, soft. Truly a perfect combo with the added acidity of lemon. Plus, the paired fries were fried to perfection.
