Went here for the first time while visiting Wild Adventures. Was really wanting some down home southern food and many reviews stated that this place was just that – southern food. Well, I’m from the south and that was not southern food. The okra was burnt and dried out, overcooked. The gizzards weren’t that bad, but heavy on grease like they weren’t drained – just dumped on the plate from the fryer. The greens they served me were oversalted and 100% from a can. Overdone and gross. My wife only picked at her shrimp and fries – said it was mostly breading and the fries were stale. The server didn’t check on us, took forever to refill our drinks (sweet tea was definitely good) and just had a poor attitude. For someone with a Granny that cooked like that and well versed in southern food and hospitality, this is not it. If you’d like a quick meal then sure – but don’t go here expecting southern food. It just ain’t there.

Stopped in our trip home from Jax. Chose the Farmhouse over Crackerbarrel (which we’ve had a hundred times). Wish we would have gone to our staple. The server is the reason this is rated lower. EVERYTHING was over salted, and I usually like my food on the salty side. I will always support locale, but the next time we stop off at this exit, we will choose the big name on the other side of the highway.

Love this place. Only wish they had real butter not margarine and biscuits, not just corn muffins later in the day. The service is always great. The vegetables are fantastic and the fried chicken is phenomenal.

Oh my, my husband and I are truck drivers and stopped here before picking up our load. Good Lord, soon delicious . Big momma in the back of that kitchen for sure. Can’t go wrong. Definitely beats cracker barrel. You can tell by the amount of people there for Sunday lunch. We will definitely be back. Nice atmosphere and courteous people.

Talk about a good classic southern atmosphere with southern hospitality!! Perfect day at church followed by a perfect meal with friends. Everything was hot, delicious, and perfect servings!! Our waitress was just as wonderful! She was able to handle a table of 10 with most being children with no issues whatsoever! We will definitely be going back!

Very good food and friendly staff. BBQ chicken was falling off the bone delicious. Chicken and dumplings.was hauntingly scrumptious! Loved the green beans but the sweet potatoes were a little to sweet as was the peach cobbler. You know it’s good when the place is filled with locals. We will be back! Highly recommend:-)
