Farmer Boys is famous for farm-to-table burgers, breakfast, salads, and more. Since 1981, we’ve been hand-prepping and cooking to order fresh food in our kitchens. Farmer Boys purchases the freshest ingredients locally, whenever possible. It is embodied in our mascot and head of security, The Scarecrow, whose mission is to protect and serve farm fresh food. Each and every team member across our expansive family of restaurants believes that the freshness and quality of the ingredients our guests are served is at the core of our success. This attention to excellence extends to our friendly table and to-go service, and our fast and easy drive-thru.
Counter-serve chain for made-to-order burgers & breakfast items, many made with local ingredients.

The problem with chain restaurants that use fresh food like farmer boys and in n out is that management has a corporate mindset but it’s an independent restaurant style. Fresh food rots really fast. Restaurants will usually gear their menu in order to prepare for this. And independent restaurants can adjust menu while corporate really can’t. Maybe they should though? Give some freedom and individuality to each location because what I’m finding with farmer boys is that they are hit and miss. The items are great but if they’ve had some slow days, a lot of the food is too ripe and nearly inedible but the corporate side comes in and needs to make quota so they sneak it into orders. If individual locations had freedom to accommodate ripening food and serve specials to get rid of it, it would be fun visiting different locations to see what they have different.
My Cobb salad had great looking toppings but ALL of the lettuce was brown and yellow bits and pieces of the garbage part of the head of lettuce. Was so looking forward to a good salad but was really bummed to find that yucky lettuce. And then the milkshake. 4 bucks for a milkshake that wasn’t really bad but it was only 3/4 of the way full. There’s a extended top to accommodate for whipped cream but I didn’t want whipped cream. So, not only was the extended portion of the lid completely empty but so was another 1/4 if the cup. Not that I really need a ton of milkshake but for 4 bucks? Seemed like I was getting jipped. Along with the nasty lettuce. Was overall not a pleasant meal like I was hoping.
