With all that said, it was a REALLY long wait for our food. It was around 40 minutes before we got our food but luckily there was football being aired. I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt because it seemed like there was only one really young man working and he was very sweet.
The food took over 1 hour, as they had lot our order, we had our baby with us, and the justification was “we are not used to having so many orders at once”
5 tables that order after us – got their food before us.
We decided to wait to get the food, big mistake.
Our burgers were burnt, we missed an order of fries, and the one order of fries we got was a mixed of whatever they had laying in there.
I would appreciate that a small business owner takes his business seriously, at least in front of customers, be polite, understanding, and present.
If you want to have a good experience, bring your own food
I rather wait and get food that is not burnt, but if you start losing orders, burning food, and not caring about your customers that’s a BIG RED flag for me.
Pros:
-Every food item we got was great.
-The Thicky burger really was thick and very filling. It was priced at $16, which feels steep for a burger with no sides, but after eating it I’m not mad at that price. Meat patty was SO well seasoned. Probably the most seasoned meat patty I’ve ever had. Honestly I’m not 100% sure what else was in that burger but it was tasty and unique. Don’t think I’ve had a similar burger elsewhere. The “thickles” (pickles) were sweeter than normal but I actually sort of liked that.
-Brussel sprouts are good, flavorful, and was a nice portion size.
-Jojos were super fluffy and soft on the outside with a crispy exterior.
-None of the food was overly oily, which surprised me a little. I expected the find a puddle of oil under the sprouts or for the jojos to seep oil in my to-go container but that wasn’t the case at all
-Service was nice.
Cons:
-Only concern about this place is cleanliness/food safety. I’m not saying it’s dirty, but it wasn’t exactly clean either. I did see grease stains on the window peering into the kitchen, smudges on the fridge, chicken thigh sitting out (possibly about to be used?), cheese wheel out, number buzzer for our order was greasy, etc. Napkins on the outside were stained with oil. It would be great if they really deep cleaned this place.
-30-40 minute wait. I think the food worth it for the wait at least once but that is a LONG time so don’t come here too hungry or with no friends/entertainment
Neutral/Notes:
-This place is located inside Future Primitive Brewery.
We were the second order placed, and the stand was not unusually busy, yet it still took over an hour to receive our food while several customers who ordered after us were served first.
The cooking area was visibly dirty. The cook repeatedly handled burgers with bare hands while touching other items in between, then went back to the food without changing gloves or washing his hands. The cashier, however, was wearing gloves.
When we finally got our food, the burgers were overcooked and sloppily put together.
JoJos: we got the JoJos and they were good! They had a great seasoning and the potatoes ranged in size making it fun to reach into the back and see what you got.
Farmboy: with two 2oz smashed patties, their special sauce, thickles, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and sweet onion, this was my favorite burger! The thickles we pickled in an interesting brine which was not my favorite, but worth a try.
Chzbrgr: one 4oz smashed pattie, smoky ketchup, thickles, cheese, and sweet onion. This was a good burger! I didn’t care for the smoky ketchup, but luckily I had some special sauce to dip it in!
