Farine means flour, and it’s at the heart of what we do. Farine Bakery & Cafe is a labor of love – to bring high quality breads, pastries, desserts and brasserie-style meals to our Eastside neighborhoods. We started with the idea that everyone deserves good bread…and really good croissants…and tartines, tarts, waffles, salads! We spent years researching the right combinations of food, drinks and ambience to create Farine. We traveled extensively across France and Belgium to draw inspiration from their rich culinary traditions, and then looked locally to create something unique for this corner of the Pacific Northwest.

The location is perfect: right in the heart of Bellevue, easy to get to, with convenient parking nearby and a charming vibe that makes it ideal for a quick stop or a relaxed sit-down. Whether you’re in the mood for a proper breakfast or just want to swing by later in the day, this place nails it every time.
Their breakfast offerings are spot-on—delicious, satisfying, and reasonably priced. You get high-quality ingredients and generous portions without feeling like you’re overpaying, which is rare these days. If you’re grabbing something after 12 PM, it’s just as great for a coffee and a pastry; the café atmosphere works perfectly for that mid-afternoon pick-me-up.
But let’s talk about the real stars: the tarts. The Hazelnut Milk Chocolate Tart and the Belgian Dark Chocolate Tart are above and beyond anything I’ve had elsewhere. The hazelnut one has this incredible shortbread crust, silky milk chocolate cream, a light hazelnut cake layer, and that whipped praline cream with toasted hazelnuts on top—it’s pure perfection in every bite. The Belgian dark chocolate version is equally decadent and intense. These alone are worth the trip.
The pastries, breads, and coffee (they use Caffe Umbria) are all top-notch too, with that authentic Belgian-inspired touch that sets Farine apart. Service is friendly and efficient, even when it’s busy.
If you’re in the Eastside area and looking for an outstanding bakery-cafe that does breakfast right, elevates your coffee run, or blows your mind with desserts, make Farine your go-to.
Came on a Saturday for brunch, a bit chaotic for me for the price point of the place. Seating situation is very random, you have to pray you can find one before your food comes and snatch it fast and then ask them to clean the table for you. I felt like I have had to press my face on people getting up just to secure a table and I don’t wish to do that.
Food wise it was decent enough for the price point in such neighborhood. I thought the waffle, classic croissant were pretty good. Overall, it was pretty ok for the price at this kind of location, the seating situation really is the big issue. Imho at this price point, seating should not be like this but if you don’t mind or just come at leas busy time then the place is worth checking out.
Plus it got cold quickly as we were seated outside and you have to bring your coffee (latte etc) from the counter – they did not serve it to table.
Salmon on Smoked Salmon Tartin was a super thin slice, bread was soggy.
It’s way too crowded, and you kind of are overpaying for just atmosphere.
Most likely won’t be back.
