Saw this place online, looked like a cute spot to grab coffee and pastries so we went. They actually moved buildings so it’s not the cool looking skinny building anymore. It’s the building next to it. The vibe inside this place was dead. There was a lady making drinks, didn’t look up to welcome or greet us. Didn’t bother to ask us if we needed any help. We saw they had 3 self service tablets so we ordered our drinks. They were out of pastries already since it was 11AM so we couldn’t try any. There was NO interaction with the employee behind the counter. When she called my name for the drinks I was trying to say thanks but she turned away quickly as if trying to avoid contact. This kind of behavior is what’s going to kill the business. Our drinks tasted fine but might have been better with friendlier service. We are trying to support local and small businesses but this kind of experience makes me want to stick with my usual spot.

This bakery is one of my favorite places in Sac. The only thing that I have slowed down to photograph is the pizza but i have indulged in the cookies, lattes, pain au chocolat (so decadent, buttery heavenly goodness) and nothing has disappointed. Ordering ahead is super easy. Everyone is always friendly and welcoming whether you are calling to check if they have any cookies left or are stopping in which i really value. Cannot recommend a bakery more for enjoying the experience of dining in or grabbing something to go. Super cozy yummy soul filling vibes in Oak Park!

Everyone who works there is sweet and kind and the vibe of the place is really lovely. The tea and coffee are pretty good but feel somewhat overpriced. The pastries are really why you come here imo. The bread is pretty decent in comparison to some of my favorite bakeries but could use some improvement. My jaw gets a workout with some of the under-proofed loafs.
For such a fancy place it feels weird to get a microwaved “McEgg” sandwich that costs almost 20 dollars. They have really great bread in the place, but use some sort of potato loaf for this that is not my fav.
My least favorite part of the experience is the iPad ordering. I go to places like this to interact with humans and chat about the day… not to scroll on 5 different iPads that constantly have issues where I have to scroll through a list of pictures when the item is sitting right there on the shelf. It makes the experience feel like a weird fast food restaurant for which it is not.
My opinion is to class up the ordering experience, remove the ipads, re-work and re-brand the Egg Sandwich so there is no $1 McDonalds reference in there…
Once the weather improves I can see the outside space being a lovely place to hang out or meet someone for a morning coffee.

Love love love this bakery. Amazing breads and pastries. Miso bread is unique and incredibly tasty. They use special grains and locally-sourced ingredients. I appreciate the quality and love they put into every detail. New location is bigger with lots of windows/natural light and the same awesome vibe. Great drinks and friendly service, too! This year we came for Lunar New Year — love that they decorate and have extra special treats, including the red envelop “raffle!” So fun.

Okay, so the bread is always a little on the dark side and the servers can be sassy. It doesn’t change the fact that everything is delicious! I have had their bread many times and have never felt it was too “burned” to enjoy. It can make it slightly bitter around the crusts and a little more chewy, but it’s still edible and enjoyable. I got a piece of miso toast with jam to go this morning and regardless of its color, every bite was fantastic.

Exceptional whole grain naturally fermented bread and pastry. The miso loaf and plain croissant are our regular order, unique and delicious, I don’t remember disliking anything we’ve tried. We are lucky to have this caliber of bakery in Sacramento. Staff are friendly and helpful every time we’ve been there. We have only done take out or preorder.

EDIT: I grabbed a black sesame morning bun and an olive loaf at the market on Capitol Mall last Wednesday. The bun was a 10/10 perfect and heavenly. Olive loaf was on the darker side for the outer crust (the slightest burnt taste), but inside tasted good and after toasting I barely noticed.
Good Basque cheesecake. Melon soda tasted like calpis in the best way possible. Great service. Cute interior. Next time I’ll grab an olive loaf.

This is my absolute favorite pastry shop in Sacramento! Super flaky croissants, a lot of fun seasonal flavors and bomb donuts. They have a nice assortment of breakfast items and drinks are solid too. Keep on being amazing, Faria!

This is a long overdue review! I’ve known them since their start at Oak Parks farmers market and loved their crossiants from day one! Always kind and considerate, amazing food and service! My favorite is the classic kouign-amann, but their seasonal pastries always give a wonderful selection. Check them out if you can!
