My colleagues and I were staying at the Loews for a conference and dined at Farena for dinner our first night and returned for a drink by the fire pits on our second night. Overall, a really great experience. The restaurant is expansive (understandable given the hotel size and location), but does a nice job of carving out areas. Dinner was very solid — we had the bruschetta (excellent) and octopus (wouldn’t order again) as apps, with the Beet Salad, Vodka Rigate, Roasted Chicken, and Broccolini -as shared mains. All very well prepared and very tasty. On our 2nd night, it was a little hard to get service on the patio (Tbf, we came in a side door), but once we did it was excellent. Shoutout to Emily for warm hospitality with a personal touch . For management, room for improvement is to better monitor the patio and keep lighting consistent to maintain an evening vibe

I was staying the Lowes hotel for business and stopped in Farena for dinner. I was greeted by the host and seated right away. I was eating on the earlier side so there wasn’t too many people in the restaurant. The waiter came over right away to take my drink order. They have a wine and cocktail list with a handful of different beers available. I started with the beet salad, wow it was good! And the portion, I could have finished my meal with the size they provide. I didn’t want anything too heavy so I went with the chicken and mushrooms. I was only halfway through my salad when my meal came out. I was a little disappointed by this. There were only a few other tables seated at that time, I would think they could do better with timing. The waiter was apologetic and offered to put the chicken on a warmer but it was already on the table so I just let it go. The chicken was good but not great. The brown sauce was loaded with salt which I’m not a fan of. I had a side of asparagus which was pretty tasty. The food was not cheap, my bill was a little over $100 for one glass of wine, salad, entree and a side, no dessert or coffee. For the quality of food that was more expensive than I would expect but you are in a hotel.

This weekend I made a special trip to Farena, the restaurant inside the Loews Hotel in Arlington and it was well worth the drive.
The inspiration for the visit actually started in Austin when I met Luis G, one of the chefs at Farena. He spoke passionately about food and his craft. The kind of genuine passion that says a lot about the caliber of a restaurant and the culture behind it. After that conversation, I knew I had to see/taste it for myself.
So this weekend I drove 3½hours to do just that.

I enjoyed a full three-course meal that absolutely delivered. I started with the fried mozzarella, followed by the chicken parmigiana, and then the Torchio pasta, finishing things off with four different desserts that made the perfect ending to the evening. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and full of flavor.

Beyond the food, the ambiance and hospitality truly stood out. The interior design is warm and welcoming, creating a space that feels both refined and comfortable. One of my favorite elements is the open kitchen, where you can watch the chefs at work. Seeing the team cooking in real time adds a special level of connection and appreciation for the craft behind each plate.
A big thank you to Rocco and Alteron (Sorry, I probably butchered the second name) for the incredible hospitality, and to Aldo, the Sous Chef, for delivering such an amazing meal. Experiences like this remind you that great restaurants are about more than just food they’re about the people, the passion, and the atmosphere they create together.

Let me start by saying I’m not a big Italian food fan. This restaurant was a huge, pleasant surprise. I ate every meal here during a long weekend because I could not get enough. I did try 3 different desserts but I wasn’t crazy about any of them but their meals – so flavorful and fresh.

Sarah and Kyle were my favorites – so friendly and cheery – they made the meals even better.

We visited last night with our family to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We had booked in advance and mentioned the occasion, and from the moment we arrived we were welcomed warmly, which set a very positive tone for the evening.

The food was excellent and clearly prepared with care. The atmosphere was enjoyable, comfortable, and perfect for a family dinner. Our server was attentive and had good knowledge of the menu and wines, which we appreciated. There was a small moment when wine was initially offered to my underage daughter, but once the server realized the mistake, he immediately apologized several times, which we understood and respected.

Overall, the evening went very well. The only small disappointment was at the end. Since it was a birthday celebration, we were expecting a simple gesture like a candle on the dessert or a brief acknowledgment. The dessert was brought out, but without a candle or any mention of the occasion, and it was placed on the table before the server walked away. It felt a bit rushed and out of character compared to the rest of the experience, especially for a restaurant of this reputation.

Aside from that, everything else was very good, and we truly enjoyed our time. With just a little more attention to these small details, the experience would have been even more memorable.

The majority of our food was absolutely delicious, so I won’t say not to try this place. Unfortunately, my lobster was a bit on the salty side, but that doesn’t take away from how good everything else was. I was offered a new lobster tail however I kindly declined.

We came as a party of 23, and instead of allowing us to sit comfortably across two tables, the staff insisted we all sit at one long table. A woman, who I believe was the manager, mentioned that she needed space for another party behind us—but during our entire visit, no one ever sat there.

I understand that a large group can be a lot to manage, and for that reason, there should’ve been at least two servers for a party our size. We only had one waitress, and while she did her absolute best, it was clear she was stretched thin.

It felt more like a control issue than a space issue. Anyone who’s ever attended a large family gathering knows that with appetizers, food trays, drinks, and kids, you need plenty of table room. When I tried to express this, I was told, “We’ve served big parties before,” which came off a bit dismissive.

They weren’t particularly busy for a Friday night, so the situation could have been handled better. Overall, the food was great, but the seating experience and management approach left a lot to be desired. We’ll likely come back for a date night, but as a family gathering spot — probably not.

Phenomenal! We celebrated our anniversary dinner at Farena yesterday. It was our first time and it exceeded our expectations. From reserving a table, the host was so kind and gave us a table with a fantastic view. Our server, Sky, was awesome! She was so kind and helpful giving us her suggestions, which were amazing! We started with the Calamari, which we really enjoyed, then ordered the Spaghettino with Grilled Shrimp and husband ordered the Pappadelle–both pastas were delicious. We also tried the Margherita Pizza (amazing!). Our cocktails, aside from looking incredible, tasted even better! We truly enjoyed our anniversary dinner. The whole staff were very professional and friendly. Our dessert was on the house, which I thought was truly sweet of them, it had different layers and textures of chocolate–very delectable, we couldn’t stop eating! We will definitely come back! A wonderful experience!

I visited after the Big 12 championship game, so there were people everywhere. We still were seated in a reasonable amount of time. The service was good. A little on the slow side, but there were a ton of people. It wasn’t slow enough to take away from the experience. The food was excellent. Flavorful and presented well. It more than made up for anything else. I will definitely eat here again.

Our family had a fantastic experience here at Farena. The staff is fantastic, the environment is inviting and warm, and the food was absolutely delicious. For starters, I strongly recommend the Citrus and Beet salad as well as the garlic butter braided bread. As for the main course, the pork chop was perfect and the pasta was exquisite.

Overall, a 5 out of 5. We’ll be back!

Be sure to ask for Sarah for some of the best service.one can receive.
