Social Profile:

Far From The Tree is a craft cider house specializing in unique, high-quality hard cider made from a variety of local apples and quality ingredients. Most apples don’t fall far from the tree, and the ciders made from them are generally quite similar. We are making cider based on a very different philosophy. Recently we’ve also started serving a variety beers, wine and non-alcoholic beverages to ensure everyone can enjoy themselves when they visit. Our fun, easygoing taproom features live bands/shows, food pop-ups, trivia, craft nights and much more!

Easygoing bar with a rustic vibe & outdoor tables, serving craft ciders & light bites.

Atmosphere is nice, free parking is great. Them not doing samples now really sucks since I’ve never had any of their ciders before. The names, themes (like the Hocus Pocus flight), and graphics on the cider menu were very nice. I’ve been to many cideries and cider festivals in different states, they have some interesting ideas but I didn’t really like any of their ciders. I was hoping to try more to maybe find something I liked but without letting me try things I wasn’t buying anymore after 2 flights.

While visiting Salem I was super excited to try the Hocus Pocus flight, loved how there was an outdoor area and they even had a food vendor onsite! I brought my pup along for the trip and she was also welcomed with open arms and had a water bowl and a treat! If you’re visiting Salem this is a great place to stop, great vibes and friendly staff, plus pet friendly!

First time coming to Salem and I was super excited to try this place as a cider lover. While I loved the place, the cider was a bit of a let down. It’s personal preference but the cider wasn’t as sweet as I’d like. And a few of them tasted very similarly. The service was great though.

We got the hocus Pocus flights and they did not disappoint. All were delicious. Didn’t find the bartender very friendly but loved the place otherwise.

Good selection of ciders and friendly staff we like
The rye cider and apple chai. The McIntosh was okay. The nova was beer like given the hops.
One persons order was mixed up. There isn’t really food here, only pop-ups and trucks. The outside patio is very nice.

Walked by this place and had to stop in. Great, friendly, and personable bartenders! Even though they don’t serve food, their recommendations of nearby food options were superb, and included both known and hidden gems. Cider options were varied and delicious. And lastly, trivia night with Samara (Geeks who Drink) was 10/10 fun!! #WISCOuldrons
