Far East is a family-owned restaurant that has been in business since 1987. Far East has a large menu with over 150 selections. We carry Cantonese, Mandarin and a few popular Vietnamese noodle dish. Far East first opened in 1987 on 28th and Clyde Park. We are now located on 36th & Clyde Park.

Tried this spot on a whim and we’re so glad we did! We had the Crab Rangoons, Lemongrass Chicken with noodles, Szechwan Chicken, and Pho Zap Chao. Although definitely an over order for our group of 3, our selection gave us a great range of flavors across the menu, and everything was super fresh and flavorful. Dishes are easily portioned to share! The interior has plenty of seating, and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. Friendly, attentive service made the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely be back!

I really hate to do this to a small business, but the food I received today was awful. The lo mein had very thin and translucent noodles, coated in sauce. The taste was extremely similar to mei fun, which I stated to the person on the phone after I called about this order. The egg roll was burnt and had next to no filling inside, and the Generals Chicken was extremely sweet and citrusy and absolutely swimming in sauce, which makes me think I got orange chicken instead. I am extremely unhappy with this food and I ended up throwing all of it away. So I’m out $60 and was told I’m wrong about the food with no acknowledgment from them about the taste and quality of the food. Just unfortunate from a family run business.

The service was amazing and the person who waited on us was VERY nice. The food was good, but it was not crazy amazing that I would go out of my way to return. But I would go back. The portions are generous and fair priced. A lot more reasonable than other Chinese restaurants. If you like spicy food, the ones marked spicy were not actually spicy so I would ask them to make it spicier before you order. The dining area is very well taken care of, but the bathrooms are scary and dirty.

Our server, Heng, was very friendly and welcoming. The food came out quickly and was piping hot. After eating my fill there was enough left over for lunch the next day and it reheated very well. Overall fantastic experience and well worth the 45 minute drive to get here. Will be back in the near future!

Love coming here for dinner. I have a handful of allergies and Hang the owners son was super kind and helped me figure out a dish they could make that I could eat. All their waiters are always super friendly and grab stuff right away when you ask for a drink, to go box or even the bill.

A wonderful local place that cares about doing a good job. The food is amazing, I would say it is halfway between strictly authentic Asian cuisine and Americanized Asian cuisine, which to me is the best of both worlds. The dining room does seem to maybe be a little tired or used to be, but someone clearly cares about breathing new life into the restaurant because efforts have been made to modernize the dining room.
