Meh. I’ve had mixed experiences here – last order was well done (Gerry Cooney steak sandwich) and the soup is generally great. Today I got fries that were more like barely re-warmed potatoes, American cheese instead of the cheddar that I ordered and a tuna melt that didn’t seem worth what I paid for it. The place is clean and the people are nice, but the food can be hit or miss, unfortunately.

By far the best food I’ve had in so long! I already can’t wait to come back to grab the fire and ice hot dog and my favorite french onion soup! Highly recommend the Fanwood Grille! They never disappoint!

I traveled to try Fanwood Grille. I ordered 2 dogs sauerkraut, no mustard. Ilittle pricey for 2 dogs. When I got out to the car and started to eat, the hot dog fell through the bun due to all the mustard. The hot dog was barely cooked. It was not good. I threw it all out. I was in the area the other day but wouldn’t go. I will give it another try.

Best food around, so thankful they offer food to go now! Get to enjoy it on the go at work and when I come in to dine. Best lobster roll and pot pie in town, and best soups in NJ hands down! Thanks for always making my day better

Well, soup was good, coffe was good.
My egg & ham sandwich came out with a HAIR, so they gave me another one to go. The one to go had no ham & was a mess.
Over all, expensive & not good.
Never coming back.

Came on a Saturday at noon. Not coming back, nothing came out right. Too bad; I was looking forward to eating here based on prior reviews.
Over easy eggs were over well… Not even a bit of proper yolk.
Grilled cheese requested with cheddar had American.
Chicken pot pie was dry on the inside and crust was softy and mushy.
Even the toast seemed stale. 🙁

I have been getting the cobb salad from time to time for lunch over the last few months. The salad size is large with generous portions of bacon, avocado, chicken etc. Staff is very pleasant and the prep time for pickup is minimal. I haven’t had anything else on the menu at this time but if its anything like their cobb salad i’m sure it will be delicious!

Becoming a favorite lunchtime option in downtown Fanwood. The portions are large and the emphasis is on comfort food. From burgers to dogs and steak sandwiches the quality is good to excellent. The menu also offers a number of alternatives for those willing to try something different. Gyros, Falafel and Shawarma pitas offer a break from standard American fare. Menu includes soups and breakfast dishes.

Moderately priced. Took a long time to get my order even though the place was empty – I was literally the only one there at the time. Coffee was absolutely horrendous. You don’t expect a supposedly fresh morning batch to taste like it’s been sitting on the warmer for half a day. Either that or someone forgot to replace the filter from the previous day.
Now, to my Greek omelette. Either it was oversalted during preparation, or the feta they use is just all salt. Potatoes that came as a side dish were soggy. The only palatable thing on the plate was the biscuit.
Now, to the service. Nonexistent. Once he put the plate in front of me, the server ignored me until he brought me the check. No querying if I’d like more coffee, or if I want anything else, or if everything was to my liking.
My recommendation: walk to the end of the block to the Railside Cafe. Sure, it’s overpriced, but at least the food is decent, and there is free WiFi.
