Yes, Steak ’n Shake earns five stars when judged against expectations for fast food. You review a fast-food restaurant by comparing it to other fast-food places.
A restaurant that presents itself as a classy, sit-down Italian spot should be reviewed based on that standard.
I’ve had better calzones at small mom-and-pop corner restaurants, and no true sit-down Italian restaurant deep-fries their Chicken Parm.
Rather than responding defensively, it would be far more productive for the restaurant to focus on improving its weaknesses.
End Edit.
I had high hopes for this restaurant, but it definitely fell short of what I expect from an Italian restaurant. I asked about the chicken Parmesan and I was told that it was deep-fried. That’s a huge, no go so ultimately ended up with a calzone and the ricotta was watery. There was very little pepperoni in it, and the mozzarella was on the very light side, and it was sliced and barely melted inside.
The meatballs were however, excellent though overpriced.
The music was incredibly loud, but the waitress did turn it down when I asked. I’m not being a prima donna at the music was very loud. Couldn’t have a conversation at many points.
Service was good probably an eight out of 10.
I travel all over the country I eat at tons of restaurants and this one I won’t be going back to.
This is New Haven-style thin-crust pizza done right.
The crust is perfectly thin, the cheese is balanced, and the sauce actually has flavor… not bland, not overly sweet.
There’s a light charred finish that gives it a wood-fired, authentic vibe. It doesn’t taste burnt at all, but it has that smoky edge that true pizza lovers appreciate. I know some people might not expect that style, but personally, that char is exactly what makes Fantini’s stand out from every generic pizza place around here.
Whether I dine in or take it home, the pizza holds up incredibly well. It doesn’t turn soggy, the slices stay crisp, and it still tastes amazing even after the drive.
The staff here has always been friendly, welcoming, and genuinely appreciative of regular customers, which is rare these days. You can tell this place is run by people who actually care about their product and their community.

…Fantini’s is the answer.
I’ll continue coming back for years to come, and I can’t recommend this place enough.
Everything else is likewise great. Service, the regular menu, the atmosphere. Just GO!
Snow Birds take note. There is real pizza in Florida.
And to my VEGAN friends. Fantini’s makes a vegan tomato soup that will rock your world!
However, our last visit was disappointing. The crust on the first pizza wasn’t just charred — it was burnt through, to the point of being inedible. A light press with a finger and it would crumble. I assumed it might have been a one-off issue, but unfortunately, the second pizza was nearly the same.
That said, based on our earlier great experiences, I’m still giving 4 stars and hoping this was just an off night. The atmosphere is lovely, though I think the music could have been turned up slightly as the crowd grew, since it became harder to hear it.
