Edit: Wow—the management’s response to this review is surprising, but honestly not unexpected based on my experience.

Yes, Steak ’n Shake earns five stars when judged against expectations for fast food. You review a fast-food restaurant by comparing it to other fast-food places.

A restaurant that presents itself as a classy, sit-down Italian spot should be reviewed based on that standard.

I’ve had better calzones at small mom-and-pop corner restaurants, and no true sit-down Italian restaurant deep-fries their Chicken Parm.

Rather than responding defensively, it would be far more productive for the restaurant to focus on improving its weaknesses.

End Edit.

I had high hopes for this restaurant, but it definitely fell short of what I expect from an Italian restaurant. I asked about the chicken Parmesan and I was told that it was deep-fried. That’s a huge, no go so ultimately ended up with a calzone and the ricotta was watery. There was very little pepperoni in it, and the mozzarella was on the very light side, and it was sliced and barely melted inside.
The meatballs were however, excellent though overpriced.
The music was incredibly loud, but the waitress did turn it down when I asked. I’m not being a prima donna at the music was very loud. Couldn’t have a conversation at many points.
Service was good probably an eight out of 10.
I travel all over the country I eat at tons of restaurants and this one I won’t be going back to.

A friend recommended we try Fantini’s. All I have to say is WOW! Wife and I had their Old Fashioned cocktail, it was very good. We had the meatball appetizer and their chicken wing appetizer. They were both unbelievably good, super good, excellent. We then had the pizza, 1 cheese and 1 pepperoni. Their pizza is the best I have had in my 34 years living in PSL. Service was great, everything came out quick. Waitress was very attentive. If you haven’t tried Fantini’s yet, get there as soon as you can.

I’ve been coming to Fantini’s Pizzeria in Stuart, FL several times a month for the past two years, and I can honestly say this is some of the best pizza you’ll find anywhere in the Stuart / Port St. Lucie / Martin County area.

This is New Haven-style thin-crust pizza done right.

The crust is perfectly thin, the cheese is balanced, and the sauce actually has flavor… not bland, not overly sweet.

There’s a light charred finish that gives it a wood-fired, authentic vibe. It doesn’t taste burnt at all, but it has that smoky edge that true pizza lovers appreciate. I know some people might not expect that style, but personally, that char is exactly what makes Fantini’s stand out from every generic pizza place around here.

Whether I dine in or take it home, the pizza holds up incredibly well. It doesn’t turn soggy, the slices stay crisp, and it still tastes amazing even after the drive.

The staff here has always been friendly, welcoming, and genuinely appreciative of regular customers, which is rare these days. You can tell this place is run by people who actually care about their product and their community.

The pizza was absolutely amazing. True New Haven style. Great crisp. We got the cheese & also a tomato pie. Both bring back memories of home. The ingredients tasted fresh & delicious. The inside was really nice & great vibes. Really nice bar & set up. On the fancy side. Felt a little uncomfortable walking in after work, still in work close & boots. The service was amazing & our waitress was wonderful. Highly recommend saving room for the tiramisu.

Very comfortable restaurant/pizzeria with a full selection entrees. Went for lunch and ordered a 1/2 pepperoni 1/2 plain pizza which was done perfectly. Pepperoni was a wonderfully delicious mix of mini spicer slices and larger traditional size. White clam pizza was tasty but weak on the clams. Definitely will go back again.

Read my other reviews, I am the ultimate pizza snob. I was told by a friend that I would really like the pizza at Fantini’s. That the owner had somehow managed to bring New Haven-style apizza to Florida. My friend was wrong. I LOVE THE PIZZA AT FANTINI’S. They seriously make a Margharita pie, the La Nonna Liberata, that ranks with Frank Pepe’s Margharita in New Haven. Had it twice in three days. I am dreaming of this pie. It was perfection.

Everything else is likewise great. Service, the regular menu, the atmosphere. Just GO!

Snow Birds take note. There is real pizza in Florida.

And to my VEGAN friends. Fantini’s makes a vegan tomato soup that will rock your world!

I’m originally from the Northeast and have lived in Florida for over 8 years. This is hands down the best pizza I’ve had since moving here. If the Mashed Potato Bacon specialty pie catches your eye on the menu, don’t think twice and just order one. You definitely won’t regret it. Great food and great atmosphere. Kudos to our server, Chris, who was excellent. Can’t wait to come back.

Made a reservation and was seated right when I walked in. Friday it was great. I was impressed with atmosphere. My favorite cherry blossom on the wall as I try a new Haven style pizza and CT Root beer. Let’s go. I would recommend the place for pizza or fine dining Italian food. Also love that Vinny came out and said hello I would of taken a photo with him. About the pizza you get two options lightly cooked or chared I went with the original style let it flow. Tangy sweet with just enough tomato sauce. Pies for days. Thank you again.

My first experience was in 2025 and it was great! The service, food and atmosphere were all very good. I have been recommending it to all of my friends! My husband and I went there again but did not have the same experience. The food was good but nothing special, the waitress was on top of her game but they seemed to be out of a lot of things which was disappointing. How does an Italian restaurant run out of bread at 6:45pm? They were out of 3 different things so it started to feel very wrong!! But the icing was when the food came out immediately following the appetizers and you would think they would return the plates back to the kitchen as there was no room on the table for anymore food but that didn’t happen. I literally put my plate of food on the empty chair and that was acceptable to them! We were in and out of that place in less than a hour. That is not the kind of experience I was looking for when we go out to dinner at a restaurant. If you don’t want to be compared to a cheap pizzeria, because you are not cheap, then act like a fine restaurant and train your staff accordingly. I won’t go back as there are plenty of better options.

We’ve dined in once and ordered to-go a few times now. The first few visits were excellent — truly the best pizza in Stuart by far. They tend to cook their pizzas with a bit of char, which we usually enjoy.

However, our last visit was disappointing. The crust on the first pizza wasn’t just charred — it was burnt through, to the point of being inedible. A light press with a finger and it would crumble. I assumed it might have been a one-off issue, but unfortunately, the second pizza was nearly the same.

That said, based on our earlier great experiences, I’m still giving 4 stars and hoping this was just an off night. The atmosphere is lovely, though I think the music could have been turned up slightly as the crowd grew, since it became harder to hear it.
