I went here as a kid and came back to try some stuff with family, we had the platter with grilled chicken(on the dryer side, but still well seasoned), ribs(smaller side of ribs, still tasted great), fries(nearly perfect, id prefer a bit more salt, but thay only personal preference, no actual complaints), baked beans(tasted much better that I remember), coleslaw(nice and creamy), cornbread muffins(great in general, but be aware, it is moist, I know some people prefer cornbread dry so…), tri tip (very dry unfortunately.) I also tried some pulled pork(tasted great, no complaints) buffalo wings(bone in, small and a bit dryer than I’d like, great sauce, and amazing ranch) I’d come again but I’d probably only order something new with fries

Second time at Dave’s barbecue. This second time was better than the first.
I had basically the same thing as last time…The Founders Feast ($33) with a slight modification.
My dinner consisted of brisket, ribs, chicken, cornbread, corn on the cob, two sides of Wilbur beans and mac & cheese. Lots of food! I normally can finish my dinner but I took home a couple of ribs and brisket. I will enjoy that tomorrow. Everything was as good or better than last time. I really enjoy the Wilbur beans. They have chunks of meat and they are slightly sweet.
My son ordered a hamburger. He really likes their burgers. He was happy with his choice.
We had the cheese curds as an appetizer. They are very good as long as they’re hot and fresh.
And not forgetting to mention our awesome server Norma! She did an outstanding job tonight checking in on us frequently with a smile and keeping our water glasses full. Kudos to Norma‼️
We will be back.

Daniel took amazing care of Us! Answered all my questions with a smile. Great sense of humor and very fast service! Can’t wait to come back for Burnt ends & catfish. Highly recommend the chips appetizer to sample all the bbq sauces, Wilber’s revenge didn’t disappoint. Be sure to request Daniel the server!

Food was great. Nice and hot. Wait wasn’t bad at all. Brisket was really flavor central but coulda been thicker slices. Ribs and chopped pork were amazing as well. Daniel was our server and he was delightful.

A few years back my boss got a coupon in the mail for Famous Dave’s in Hayward near Southland.
We went, checked it out, and absolutely LOVED IT!
Up until now, it’s the only Famous Dave’s that we’ve eaten at.
Well guess what! I just check out my hometown Famous Dave’s for the first time…
and it’s even more awesome than the one I love in Hayward.
Love the atmoshphere, the waitresses n waiters are very cool n cazj.
Daniel, he guy bringing me my prime grub, was there when I wanted something, and not when I didn’t want to be bothered while my mouth was full. Easy going great place. I can’t believe I’m just trying it out for the first time in Modesto. The place is literally not a mile from my house. I drive by it just about every day,

Ribbs are cheap pics to much fat, However had to give it 4 stars because the cook was amazing for making fatty ribbs taste good rAnd Sam the mgr should be considered for regional manager for his excellent staff and patron relations! The beans were the best and I will be back for the beans! And try chicken instead. The service was great! Mgt and staff awesome!

Food was delicious! Portions are smaller than I remembered. Ribs and brisket were excellent. Service sucked. Our waiter was busy, so we were greeted and drink order taken by someone else. Waiter came back to take our order, did not offer appetizers or alcoholic drinks. So when walking by we asked him for our alcohol drink order, our drinks and food came out at the same time. Would have liked to sip on my alcoholic beverage a little more before dinner but that’s okay. When we ordered our food, the Feast for two, we added on a side of mac and cheese and a side of greens. Upon receiving our food we realize the side of mac and cheese inside of greens were a lot smaller than the ones on the feast for two, I asked our waiter do you have two sizes of sides? He then said yes individual or family size, when we ordered I felt he should have offered the family size if he seen we were ordering the Feast for two and all sharing. He did no up selling, no chit chat with us, but did visit and chit chat the table behind us. We had to ask someone else for refills, he did come in as for refills but it was very late in the meal. We wanted dessert but we’re not asked, so we left and had dessert somewhere else.

I had a fantastic first time experience at Famous Dave’s! The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, the fried chicken was so juicy and every side dish was full of flavor! I could go on for days about the sweet buttery cornbread muffins.
A huge shoutout to Daniel, who made the meal even better with his outstanding service. He was friendly, attentive, and made my friend and I feel genuinely welcomed. It’s rare these days to find someone who clearly enjoys what they do, and it showed in every interaction.
