The usual scene when I’m noticed in a restaurant in a city that acts like I deserve to be treated like Im nothing.
I waited and wasn’t greeted by a greeter ever. When I walked into Famous Daves in FOREST LAKE, MN.
I was most definitely ignored on purpose.
I looked around for assistance and there wasn’t anything keeping the greeters attention. The staff wasn’t busy with customers, they were talking amongst themselves and I tracked one of the associates down who eventually made it obvious that she was the greeter.
She helped me understand that customers are supposed to visit, grab a menu, order then sit down.
I wasn’t about to argue with her about how or why she ignored me. I figured I would just give everyone who is looking to know how bad the service here may be a heads up.
EVERYTIME A CUSTOMER CAME IN AFTER I WAS IGNORED, THE GREETER THEN BEGAN ALMOST “TAUNTINGLY,” GREETING CUSTOMERS WHO LOOKED LIKE PEOPLE SHE’D RATHER GREET.
I know this is how you run your business when I come give you money, but I rather you be transparent and say, we don’t want your business.
I didn’t feel appreciated for my business. I’ll avoid Famous Daves everywhere because of this little amateur waitresses attitude and lack of knowledge of the hospitality industry.
I now believe every Famous Dave’s is this way.
Forest Lake, MN has taken the cake on how to make paying and tipping customers feel under appreciated when they are different from the usually expected small town customer.
Food was the usual stuff I can make at home, but I wanted to eat there and found out I should have passed them by.
Noted for never goto Forest Lake, MN Famous Dave’s. Thank you for treating me so much different Negatively than you treated everyone else.

The best thing about my plates was my Mashed potatoes and Fries.
The ribs were so tiny and super salty. Even the bbq sauce couldn’t ask it. The brisket was okay. Lacked the smokey flavor profile.
Nice atmosphere though.

Have gone here for over 15 years. Still good food and good service. Things have been simplified but simplicity can be a good thing. Miss their brownie with icecream but French silk pie is delicious.
Kids meals were good size and my kids enjoyed them! My salad was good and mother in law had their Mac and cheese! Every thing was good!

My husband and I ordered a feast for two. We asked for the ribs to be removed and to be replaced with chicken. We then asked for an add-on of more chicken and an add-on of more brisket. We ordered 2 gallons of sweet tea. There wasn’t enough for the second gallon so the employee added sugar to the non-sweet tea and stuck half her hand in the container to stir it. When we got home with our order, the pork was completely missing and barely any brisket or chicken. That makes no sense when we ask for more chicken and more brisket at the time we ordered! When we called to talk to the manager, she was not helpful by any means in extremely rude. She told us that the way we ordered the food is not how we ordered it! Beyond unsatisfied!! Prices raise for the cost of food and yet you get less than what you even paid for!! If we didn’t live 20 minutes away we for sure would have went back and demanded a refund!!

We went into Famous Dave’s in Forest Lake today, we were craving ribs. We had 3 different kinds and they all were terrible. They tasted like an old sow. Very odd taste. Mac and cheese were horrible too. $50+ dollars. Won’t be going back or recommending it to anyone.

I’ve been here before. Went here today for my birthday. (Feb 14th) got the garbage can lid platter, which I usually enjoy. Today, butter wouldn’t even melt on corn cobs or potatoes. Food (ckn, ribs etc) barely lukewarm. I mentioned to waitress twice. Nothing. Finally s/w Mgr, he refunded (portion) of money and gave me a pie (from Thursday he said)…never had poor food like that before.

Went today for their $10 burger lunch special. Ordered a soda with it. Total was a little over $14. I tipped 15% even through there aren’t actual severs to take order. The soda I got was about 1/2 bubbles from carbonation and tasted nothing like it should. Was absolutely awful. No big deal since I cared more about the burger. After quite some time and realizing that people who ordered after me had already gotten finished and I had yet to even get my food I checked at the front to see what the issue was. Spoke to manager who said the food hasn’t even been started but they would make it “right away” since it was almost 50 minutes at this point I told her to forget and just give me a refund. I told her about the soda issue as well and to refund that along with the tip. She claims she would cancel my sale and not to worry since she would cancel the “whole thing”. She can’t figure out how to do the r refund and instead said she would give me the cash instead of crediting back on card. Of course I got back money minus tip. Figured wasting and hour of my time and not getting my full refund is the price I’ll pay to not give this place my business again!

Unfortunately I think that we were screwed on the portions of the meat look at the pictures because we went and got the brisket the brisket is cut so thinly as paper as thin as paper and we got three pieces of it do you know that we spent almost $60 there and that’s what we got we got less than 2 oz of brisket an unfortunately the baby back ribs were so tough that we couldn’t even eat them so unfortunately their food is not as good as it used to be and the portions that you’re paying for or outrageous
