Pretty disappointing, but honestly expected. Good BBQ just isn’t really a NY specialty, but I keep trying, hoping I’ll be proven wrong.

We ordered the baby back ribs combo and the baby & 1 meat combo. The baby back ribs were drenched in sauce and way too sweet. They were okay, but I probably wouldn’t order them again. With the baby & 1 meat combo, I went with the brisket, and it wasn’t much better than the ribs. The brisket was soggy.

Overall it felt pretty typical of a large chain restaurant. Maybe the food is better straight out of the kitchen. I think the cardboard takeout containers made it worse. The food probably went in piping hot and ended up sweating in the container during delivery.

What a great place! We ordered three huge plates of meat — and it was absolutely worth it. There were chicken wings, pork ribs, and beef, all cooked perfectly. Everything was so tender, juicy, and flavorful — the kind of meat that melts in your mouth.

I started with the pork ribs — amazing! Juicy, smoky, and full of flavor. Couldn’t even make it to the chicken legs — I was so full that I had to take the rest to go (which was nice of them to offer).

The mashed potatoes were incredible — soft, buttery, and creamy, just like the ones my mom used to make back home. The beans were great too, and the corn in sour cream or buttery sauce was just delicious. Even the onion rings were crispy and perfectly golden.

Overall, everything was fresh, tasty, and generously served. Prices were more than fair. If you love good food and hearty portions — this place is a must-try. Highly recommend!

I ordered the Thanksgiving Holiday Feast from Famous Dave’s for Thanksgiving Day ($124.92), and I am extremely disappointed. This was supposed to save me time on a major holiday, but it actually created more work for me.

When I picked up the order, all of the trays were handed to me without any bags, stacked in my hands. For a meal at this price point, everything should be properly packaged for transport. I had to use my own reusable bag just to get everything to my car.

Once I got home and opened the food, things got even worse:

The meal was supposed to be served hot, but everything was barely lukewarm.

The green beans had unmelted butter sitting on top — a clear sign they weren’t heated properly.

Multiple pans were not full, including the mashed potatoes, green beans, turkey, brisket, and macaroni and cheese.

The macaroni and cheese was watery with way too much sauce. I actually had to cook extra macaroni and bake it just to make it edible.

The mashed potatoes looked spread thin and barely filled the tray.

The brisket slices were thick and a bit tough; I had to put them in the crock pot to soften.

Nearly every dish required additional cooking, which defeats the purpose of ordering a prepared Thanksgiving meal.

And oddly, the meal came with five cornbread muffins — not six. I’ve never seen a holiday meal sold with five of anything. It felt incomplete and carelessly portioned.

This was meant to save me time on Thanksgiving — instead, it wasted my time. I even drove from Brooklyn to pick this up, expecting convenience and quality. No one should pay over $120 for a holiday meal that arrives lukewarm, under-filled, and poorly prepared.

Between the poor presentation, lack of proper packaging, under-filled trays, extra cooking required, and incomplete cornbread order, this meal was absolutely not worth the price. I would not order a Thanksgiving or holiday meal from Famous Dave’s again.

It’s 10degrees in NY. I placed my order while commuting home and picked my dinner up in 2mins or less. I was greeted with a smile and the service was efficient. A hot delicious dinner was a good close to a long day.

The place was nice and homey feel. The food was excellent. I ordered 3 meat and 2 sides plate and red singrea. All was wonderful. However, care for having to pay up front, getting my drink order after my meal was delivered and going to the bathroom and it look like this, which was very disappointing.

We liked this place, and would recommend as a BBQ place, managing expectations as a chain. The 4 of us were seated right away Sunday 130p, we chose the full service. (You can order at the counter and sit in a different area, or take out). 2 of us did the lunch special which is nice to have on the menu, but found it average. We also ordered a full rack of baby back and then St Louis ribs, and they were very good. Mac n cheese was surprisingly good with the peppers, and the banana pudding was sweet and good. Food came quick, we’d come back. Enjoy!

Came here for lunch. Their lunch menu prices are good. The pulled chicken sandwich was good but a little soggy. Brisket sandwich was fine too. Coleslaw and pickles were good. The main issue was the onion straws appetizer. Was a big portion and hot and crispy but they were so incredibly salty. Of course a dish like that should be salty but these were SALTY to the point of being hard to get down. The best part was they had a fire going at lunch. Service was helpful and friendly.

We stopped by during the weekday for lunch and it was not crowded so we were seated right away. Lisa waited on us and she was friendly and fantastic. Food was absolutely delicious and having various BBQ sauces available at each table was great! Recommend the pulled pork sandwich – it’s super juicy and tender. The fries were nice and crispy outside and soft inside.

Not what they used to be. Food was ok, nothing special, but not what you exepted for a bbq place more if an Applebees. rib were over cooked and dry. Sauces at the table are watered down. All fountuan drinks dont taste right, either over sweet or no flavor at all. They have a self service side and a full service side, but only one women working the whole restaurant, including bar, so we sat in the full service side, but still had to get our own drinks. Looks like they are trying to make it into a fSt food place, come in, order, take a number, sit down until they call your number. But food was slow.
