Fun night at Lakeside Casino and stopped for breakfast on the way home at Family Table Diner. I have to say pleasantly surprised by how good our breakfasts were. I ordered the supreme hashbrowns with OE eggs. It was huge and awesome. My friend had the the ham and 2 egg breakfast. The large slice of ham was delicious! Also ordered a cranberry cooler. Very refreshing. Our waitress was super attentive and had a great smile. Would recommend for sure!

The food is fabulous, portions are larger. The staff are very friendly and attentive. This restaurant is very busy there will be a wait to be seated and to get your order but WELL WORTH THE WAITING! Many options to choose from on the menu!
The coffee was very good and hot! The price is under what we expected for the meal size!!! Super clean as is their restrooms, stalls are on the smaller side. Love the farm style deco!

Loved this place. Stayed in Osceola Iowa for a few days, and ate here both mornings for breakfast. Food was delicious. Staff was friendly and courteous. Had the same waitress both days, she was great! Portions are generous, was not able to finish mine either day. They have the biggest cinnamon rolls I have ever seen. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to eat there again if I get back that way. Artwork on the walls is awesome, their moto is “Home cooking so good you’ll think that we stole your mother” I absolutely loved that. They didn’t steal my mother personally but possibly my grandmother.

Family table is a very nondescript looking restaurant from the outside, but what you get inside is friendly service an excellent home cooking.
Don’t let the outside for you. Definitely check this place out.
I have the Italian grinder which is basically ground sausage with marinara sauce, mixed in with it and mozzarella cheese, due to a previous poster mentioned it didn’t come with any onions or peppers. I asked for caramelized peppers and onions and they did it and then I got extra marinara sauce to add and it was fantastic , the onion rings that I asked for on the side I told him I didn’t want that many there was a big pile on that plate and they didn’t charge any extra for that over french fries. They were hand breaded thin and fantastic.
I highly recommend giving family table to try. It was busy. That should tell you something.

The food looked so good, but the chicken fried steak was so heavily soaked with grease, it was inedible. We also got fried pickles, & they were battered in corn breading, & tasted like fish. We also got the pecan pancakes, & they just tasted like flour. The side salad was amazing, & the hamburger was good too. The baked potato was good too. So not sure if we hit a bad day, or if it was just hit or miss. Ver6 nice people

If there had to be a model for what a café/family restaurant looks and feels like, this place is number one on the list. They have a breakfast buffet on Sunday (maybe more). The food is always great. My favorite is the loaded hash browns with a side of sausage gravy. So good!
