Fairfax is a cozy West Village spot, and their burgers really are their strong point. We went for brunch and enjoyed both the egg sandwich and the burger. It was pretty busy, and we had a bit of trouble getting cutlery and condiments, so our food cooled down by the time we could start eating. Overall, a nice place — just hoping for smoother service next time.

Fairfax is a small, cozy place located at the corner of W.4th and 10th. They have a nice menu that has a good variety of sandwiches, a few pasta dishes, and some seafood. They also have a well stocked bar, and while I do not drink, it looks like they can make anything. The two bartenders were very cool and friendly. For me though, it was all about their legendary burger (originally from Bar Sardine). This is a great, great burger. It’s a combination of many different ingredients, like red onions, crispy potatoes, and an interesting BBQ mayo. It comes on a pressed bun. It’s really pressed, as in almost flat. The combination of those things and the pattie itself translates into a killer burger. I had a side of fries with it; perfect. Lately I’ve been on this kick to sample the best, most legendary burgers that we have in the City. This is one of them. This is indeed iconic.

Greate date night with my best friend. Really great vibes and amazing service. We sat down right away (early to our res) and got a bottle of delicious wine timely. We shared the special (cauliflower), tots, and each got a classic burger. It was all phenomenal. Flavors were great and the portions were awesome also. It might be one the best burgers I’ve had. We loved our time here!!

I’ve wanted to try Fairfax for a while, but it’s a popular spot so you definitely need to make reservations a few weeks ahead. It turned out to be a really fun date spot with that classic West Village vibe—cozy, lively, and just a great atmosphere overall. We were both craving a good burger, and it delivered. Nice thick beef patty, cooked perfectly, and served on a unique bun that really worked. We also ordered the tater tots, which were solid, but the standout of the night was the romanesco special—perfectly cooked with bright, vibrant flavors. Great night out and a place I’ll definitely be coming back to.

Had a great time here and the food was great. The vibe is awesome, it’s a cute space with a lot of personality. Folks at my table got the chicken, cavatelli, and burgers. They were able to accommodate a request for grilled onions on one of the burgers so that was nice. The bun is different/cool, I liked the texture of it. We had a bunch of different drinks as well, I enjoyed both of my cocktails: the martini and Sorry Papi.

We went here for brunch and tried their famous burger and an egg sandwich — both were pretty solid choices! The music in the background really added to the vibe, making it a fun spot to spend a weekend morning.

The only downside was the service — it was a bit slow, and the servers took a while to bring what we needed, so our food got a little cold. That said, it was a busy Saturday, so I can understand the delay. Overall, still a nice place for a casual brunch with good food and great atmosphere.

My husband and I have lived in NYC for a long time and have always wanted to try Fairfax but with it being so popular we’d put it off thinking it was overrated…WELL ITS NOT. We had one of the best meals of the year here tonight. The food and atmosphere are killer but it’s the service that really takes this place to the next level! I didn’t catch any names but the staff behind the bar tonight on 10/18/25 were so friendly and so much fun. We had the famous burger, the dill pickle peanuts, the roasted carrots, the tots, and the fall apple cake! I’m not even being dramatic either we had such a great time here

Some well plated dishes. Restaurant is a rather intimate space. With appetizers and drinks, $50-60 per person. Walked away happy and satisfied.

I ended up at Fairfax after seeing it in one of those “best burger in New York” videos. The burger was definitely good. I liked how the flat bun made it easier to eat without everything sliding around but it wasn’t the best I’ve had. I asked for medium well, and it came out well done, which was a bit of a letdown.

Still, it was a solid burger to enjoy with a beer and worked well as a quick bite. The place was packed and pretty loud, so not the most relaxing atmosphere, but if you’re just looking to grab a bite and go, it does the job.
