This is a fun hometown bar. I arrived around opening and it was fun observing the regulars coming into the lounge. The bartender knew them by name, and they’d clearly shared dozens of stories together over years. It was very wholesome and gives a real vibe of being welcome and accepted. It reminded me of Cheers but in the Midwest.
There are a few TVs with usual sports and other programs to view while sipping your drink or eating some well-made food. The selections are pretty varied with a few taps and a fridge full of bottled consumables.
This is the type of place that you want to hang around in for hours. There are some bars and lounges that are skeevy or shady or just give off a bad aura. But Excuses Lounge is definitely a place where you’ll meet new friends and create lasting memories with old friends and family.

Great local bar! Astrid, our bartender, . was very attentive. And had the lucky hands….she pulled out 2 big wins for my wife on the “cardboard crack” pull tabs! Music was loud, but not deafening. They have a great selection of adult beverages, and Astrid even introduced us to salted watermelon liquor, which was surprisingly delicious. We live in Amherst, but look forward to returning soon for the great service and friendly atmosphere!

Really thought this would be a better experience with most reviews read. The atmosphere was pretty cool. The bartender, Brittany maybe, however was not interested in us as much as others customers and the scoff of me ordering a Jamison neat over my husbands Jamieson on the rocks (I have sensitive to cold teeth) was the reason for 4 stars vs 5 stars. Possibly, we will give it another try. Maybe because we didn’t order apps? Not sure.

If your looking for a place that is slow and the people there are so bored with their lives that they talk about you and judge you when you walk in the door, EXCUSES LOUNGE IS THE PLACE TO BE. Its sad we live in a world where a person cannot express themselves thru their physical features without being bullied by old men and a bartender that does not stop the bullying or harassing. Also, even if you do not have a drink or just have a drink with food, don’t be surprised if an officer pulls up behind you when you get in your car before you get a chance to leave. Rude bartenders and terrible crowd..obviously not family friendly or kid friendly.
