I will start with this. The food was tasty. The service was fast and friendly. We were given salads on the house. All of these things are preventing me from giving it 3 stars. The biggest problem is portion sizes. California roll. Ok. $6, small roll, sure. We also ordered a crunchy roll. $10. Shrimp was hard to find and it was kinda greasy. They need to put a different sauce on it, like eel. It was also very small. Secondly, i saw my neighbor eating a chicken hibachi. Ok. $20+. Maybe 6oz chicken. Ok. I’ll get shrimp AND scallops. Might have been 4oz of seafood… $33 dollars. Yeah no. I was starving and heart broken. I have to say, other people’s meals looked like better portions then what we got. Maybe we just ordered wrong. ‍♂️ Again. I really want to give it 3 stars. I just can’t because everything else was good.

I am so beyond excited to have a new sushi and hibachi place like Eve’s in downriver! My boyfriend and I went tonight for the first time and I am amazed by how amazing the food was, how awesome the service was and how adorable the atmosphere was!

There’s a “but” to this review. First, I just went because I like to try out new, independent places. I did not see the other reviews prior to going. I got the Yummy-Yummy roll. I have to agree with all the other reviewers who say the food tastes great. It does. It was very, very good. On that basis alone, you should give it a go. But, for the amount that I paid (just under $15.00) I feel like I should have gotten a larger portion than I did, or some other side. So, I agree with the few reviewers who mentioned the price. Will I go again … yes … it was that tasty. Will it be as often as I like due to price … sadly no. I didn’t ask if they had one, but they should probably do some sort of punch card incentive to encourage people to come more often.

The hibachi itself is amazing, but the sushi was simply better than average. I had steak and shrimp with egg fried rice. It was worth every penny. I later ordered a salmon roll and spicy tuna roll, which was at the very least, satisfying.

They have one small flattop to cook hibachi for a whole restaurant so a lot is pre prepped and it shows. The veggies are in a warming thing before they hit the grill for less than a minute before going out they come out cold and soggy. Chicken and filet was over cooked and dry. And almost all the rolls have cream cheese. Waitress was great but way overworked in the busy restaurant only two for lots of tables. The sesame dressing on the salad was pretty good though. Shrimp dumpling appetizer was for sure from frozen and not hot either was almost just room temp when served. Probably wouldn’t come back. Wasn’t horrible but for the price would rather hit some better spots.

For being a recently opened restaurant, It kind of blows me away on how they pulled this off without having a single flaw. This is hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while. Starting off with the amazing staff to the most delicious food. Each bite of sushi is absolutely righteous and literally melts in your mouth from how fresh it is. Hibachi comes with a great portion and is also packed with flavor. Next time you want some food, take my word and try this. Trust me they will not disappoint. I am definitely a repeat customer
