Bright, modern eatery in a hotel offering inventive New American plates, cocktails & wine.

We had a delicious dinner at Eve last night. The restaurant is very different looks wise from the old Eve. The new place is modern and very white. We thought the food was solid and service was excellent. The appetizers – a won ton nacho and cheese board were very good. My seafood lasagna was terrific and the Thai BBQ chicken was very good also. The only items that were not special were the 14 ounce Delmonico steaks. They were cooked to medium rare as we asked – but not a special dish. Maybe a sauce added to the dish would be better. Dessert was a pot of chocolate topped with creme fresh. Very tasty! We will certainly be going back to Eve!

I had almost expected after entering the restaurant through the lobby of a revered hotel that the restaurant would have something of a formal, stuffy atmosphere about it, but I was quickly proved wrong. The staff were all immediately friendly and welcoming and the decor / atmosphere was modern in the best sense of what minimalism stands for. If anything, it was easy ti imagine that I had stopped into a neighborhood restaurant somewhere on Madison Avenue in New York. That said, the food is as good as it gets. Some may remember that Eve was a contestant a while back on Top Chef and her menu and food confirm the good judgment those folks made in bringing her in. I will sometimes go just to pleasure myself with the Nacho appetizer, which when I had it recently, was intensely flavorful and satisfying. I also had a Manhattan and it was really well constructed! I had the braised pork entree: tender, and again, intensely flavorful. What’s interesting is that even while the whole ambiance has the feel of a friendly pub, the food seems slightly out of place: it really should be in a ritzy, 5 star restaurant in mid-town Manhattan. The desert was pancakes and ice cream and you might shake your head, but when presented with three very different pure maple syrups, you know you’re getting a very pleasant ending to a fabulous dining experience. Do I sound like a big fan of the place? Yeah. I guess I am. It’s affordable enough so you may see me sitting there at the bar with my Nachos and Manhattan smiling from ear to ear!

We had a total of 6 people dine at Eve, and it was wonderful from start to finish. From the special glass of cava we had to start off the night, to the phenomenally flavorful desserts, it was one of the best meals I have ever enjoyed. We tried three different appetizers, and all were bursting with flavor. They did have some spice, but not to the point it was too hot or spicy. We had a diner at our table who generally likes nothing hot, and she was just fine with the level of spice, so no worries on this.
All 6 of us ordered a different entree, and every single one of thought each was fantastic. We also shared bites here and there, and everyone agreed that the every dish truly was a standout. Should I go back, the biggest dilemma will be trying to figure out what to have, however as the menu changes with what is fresh, I will no doubt be faced with a new quandary. I nice problem to have!
The service was also very attentive, from the sommelier, to our server, everyone bent over backwards to make sure every items was perfect. If I could offer one suggestion to management, it would be to change their policy on insisting that the appetizers and entrees be ordered at the same time. Timing should be up to the guest on this. Either way, a very minor issue.
The atmosphere is nothing spectacular. Very cosmopolitan, and something you would expect to see on Madison ave in NYC, and very nice.
We look forward to returning many more times, and to many more spectacular meals.

Eve is phenomenal! It’s located in the heart of downtown. The moment you walk in, you are in a beautiful homey but minimalist elegant setting.
We had a big group and got the private room in the back. We ordered the bounty feast with red and white wine. The shrimp and curried mussels were the standouts by far!
Would definitely recommend for family gatherings or nice dates.

Today we splurged and had an incredible fine dining experience at Eve. Before even placing our order, we were brought a beautiful display of fresh vegetables with whole grain mustard and knew we had picked the right spot for the occasion! We went for the tofu feast and were able to pick 4 delicious sides. It will be hard to eat tofu again after experiencing this remarkable, flavorful, and perfectly cooked dish. The sides were so unique and so fun to taste! Our favorites were the spicy african greens and the vegetable melange, but all were so tasty! Best of all, the service was wonderful and hospitable and the decor and feel of the restaurant was second to none. A must try.

This modern restaurant located within the bell tower hotel opened December 2015. My boyfriend took me here to celebrate our one year anniversary and we had a wonderful experience. Service is on point, honestly they deserve more than 5/5 stars, our server was extremely professional and respectful. There were two other personal checking in on us to refill our waters/bread and clear the table. They offer complimentary freshly baked brioche with 3 different compound butters AND an assortment of crudités! Loved they had other options in addition to the normal carb loading pre-dinner. The menu is very eclectic. They are labeled as a French restaurant however so there is also a strong Indian and Italian influence in the dishes. The crudités came with a curry/mustard/mayo dipping sauce, we ordered the quail appetizer (which was the most well seasoned and perfectly cooked quail I’ve ever had) with a side of apple chutney. My bf ordered the halibut over pesto risotto and I had the spring celebration, which is basically an assortment of veggies tossed in pesto with gnocchi. I would have given 5/5 except my entree was much too over salted and I was not as impressed with the flavor profiles compared to the appetizer.

We were very excited to try eve after its reopening. I moved to Ann Arbor just before the original location closed and never had a chance to try it. With how much I enjoy Frita Batidos I was sure eve would yield similar satisfaction. Unfortunately, I must report that we were underwhelmed.
Admittedly we did not make a reservation, which left us to sit at the bar. The service should still have been fine there, but was spotty and slow. It was nearly an hour before we were asked for our order.
Time passed after that and when we finally received our food it was clear it had been sitting for some time. We both got meat dishes and they had gone lukewarm. The presentation was so-so and the flavors were rather muted.
Overall we were there over 2 hours and most of it wasn’t pleasant. I will definitely give it another chance and make a reservation to see what the table experience is like, but won’t choose the bar again!

I have just returned from dining here for my birthday and felt I needed to write this review right away. The food was delicious and the service from the staff was top-shelf. Jerome, our waiter, possessed utmost professionalism. We were surprised that my desert and a to-go appetizer we ordered had been on the house. I would recommend the place to anyone.

The food is wonderful, but the ambiance is really lacking. The décor is sterile, the table we had was so uncomfortable that we could not sit near our food without our knees hitting the table pedestal. In addition, the service was not what one would expect from a restaurant of caliber.

Far and away the best food in Ann Arbor. I highly recommend the feast (I’m sure all are good, but the African one is fantastic)!
