Arrived at 10am opening time and there was already a line of customers- always a good sign. It’s a to-go bakery with beautifully displayed pastries, cakes, cookies, and breads.
Super friendly husband and wife who are the owners, the bakers and the customer service in one.
I chose a variety of items including several of the traditional Ukrainian baked goods (new cuisine for me). They are light and flavorful. The Queen’s Cake is surprisingly light and delicate which I didn’t expect because of caramel being the featured ingredient. The Honey Cake (I got plain, no cherry) is delicious!

I absolutely LOVEEEE this place. I have gone three separate times and each time I love it more and more. I was able to try the fruit desserts this past Saturday, as my friend was able to get there a half hour before open to be one of the first people in line! Since they sell out so fast!! I love supporting small businesses, especially ones that remind me of the Greece and New Zealand! Can’t wait to go back to European Taste!

Absolutely brilliant! I’m so excited to have a capable entremet chef in the metro! We came here specifically for the Trompe-l’oeil desserts after reading about them on a thread. These are the mousse-filled desserts, flavored like the fruits they’re shaped after. She ran out of the majority of the desserts we sought after (it was 10am), so we came back the next day for more! Everything was phenomenal! Flavored well, not overly sweet, perfect amount of white chocolate shell on the entremets, appropriate ratios of different components. Ukrainian bakers always blow me away! The level of skill it takes to execute this style is impressive! We adored everything! We spent ~$100 here in two days on a plethora of goodies and neither of us have much of a sweet tooth. (They also make several savory pastries.) It was absolutely worth every cent and mile to get here. She definitely does these desserts justice!

I tried both the German Chocolate Cake and the Apple Mouse desert along with a Latte. They were all delicious. I was surprised that the Apple Dessert was so creamy. It was like apple cider in a dessert! The Latte was strong and smooth, and the German chocolate cake was even better than I previously had because it wasn’t quite so sweet. I will definitely be getting them again!

Heard about this bakery on Facebook and decided to try it. I went last weekend but they were sold out so I tried it this morning and it is phenomenal! Everything is so flavorful but not too sweet, perfect crispiness on the Kiev cake and the cream cheese deserts, the fruit deserts are mouth watering! I didn’t think I would like those because they have a mousse filling but oh my god I think I’ll have to go back for more of them! The owner is so sweet and this place deserves all the love it gets! I will be back to try everything else!

Absolutely incredible. We tried the baklava, a slice of cheesecake, and the crème brûlée—and every single bite was phenomenal. Truly an absolute treat. Hands down the best cheesecake I’ve ever had. I really hope people realize what a gem we have here and support it well, because my family and I are beyond grateful to have found this place. We’ll be back—often.

I think it’s the best dessert and espresso drink place in Des Moines. I’m glad they moved to a better location and their pasties and cakes are amazing. Also, they have traditional Ukrainian desserts which is close to my heart. Hope people come and enjoy their yum yums. Strongly recommend their honey cake.

I love this place. She makes the best pastries. Fruit shapes are the best but you have to come really early before it gets sold, everyone loves them. She makes the best tiramisu I’ve ever had. Cakes are delicious too. Tried most of the pastries, no complaints. However, it’s hard to get the coffee bean custard, my favorite dessert.
