Standard Tex mex spot! A fairly spacious restaurant without a ton of guests on a Saturday night. The chips and salsa were okay, the salsa was more tomato-ey than it was peppered or spiced. Guacamole was nicely chunky and tasty, could use a bit of salt! The chicken fajitas were served sizzling, and the chicken was nice and tender. The peppers and onions were spiced nicely and made for good fajitas. This is a good spot to bring your buddies, delete some cheap margs, and inhale guacamole.

Not the best I have ever had, it was edible but not worth it with the boro less then 5 minutes.
We got a pulled pork burrito and tacos.
The burrito had a lot of different flavors than what we expected but the pulled pork was tender and had a good taste. The tacos were mid, the chicken was not tender but I had a decent taste. The guacamole wasn’t good, chunks of it were just solid.
Not worth $70 bucks…

We had such a great experience at Escondido. The birria tacos were absolutely amazing and full of flavor. The best part was discovering their Tuesday special where tacos are buy one get one free plus they also have all-day happy hour. Total win. We left happy and definitely plan to go back.

5 of us went for a birthday celebration. Sat upstairs. Food was very good, skinny spicy margarita was excellent. Service was sub par. Brought the wiring appetizer. Entrees came out too soon after apps were served. Server did not check back often enough. Never asked if we wanted a second round of drinks or after dinner if we wanted coffee and dessert.

I have been here about 4 times.
Basically it was hit or miss.
I have had decent food and then again not.
The Salsa is fresh and has a bold not over powering flavor.
The lime chicken was cooked properly and although it’s actually called Cilantro-Lime chicken, it’s one of the few dishes that is not overpowered with cilantro.
Fajitas and quesadillas are a safe bet and you get what you expect.
The Gringo Tacos were disappointing, the ground beef has an overall seasoned flavor that will make you question is it flavoring or freshness.
Burritos and Chimichanga are heavier than need be. It’s like heavy paste and beans are all you taste .. if you like Bean paste it’s a plus.
The rice and beans was served in the wrong serving dish where the presentation
Made It difficult to even taste.
And when I did taste , it was with regret. Overseasoned over dry rice with beans that look like you just opened a can of Black beans and you got the bottom of the can.
Only those who have opened a can of black beans will understand.
So go with Plantains for a side instead. They will not disappoint
The cocktails and Margherita selection is the bigger draw than the food. The atmosphere and cocktails makes most overlook the actual food.
In fairness I have had both good and fair meals and was hit and miss like 50/50.
Perhaps they have different chefs
On different days or shifts

Lunch was the most disappointing
But finding what I hope was a 2 1/2
Stem in the beans on one occasion and the plastic pull tab on whip cream in the ice cream explains the lack of details and pride when presenting a dish.

Went for lunch with a friend. We had 2 drinks each, a couple appetizers, 2 tacos for myself and a salad bowl for her. The appetizers and drinks were great, I wasn’t so sold on the tacos especially for the price but my friend loved her dish. The atmosphere was nice and mellow since it was noon. I would go back and try other things

I came here with my lady for a nice dinner out after she heard many great things about this restaurant. The restaurant was very clean but was surprisingly empty for a Sunday night. Unfortunately I don’t have much positive things say, the service was very slow & basically felt forgotten about. The drink were watered down probably due to the large amounts of ice. Our food was ok at best but nothing special & nothing remotely meaningful. The drink selection was very limited as well for a place with the name Tequila bar. I was disappointed after hearing this is the place to go to spot.

If you are looking for enchiladas con crema this is the place..however the tortilla soup was like pureed and too many flavors at the same time…also the birria plate is simple but require not to burn the cheese and look if the tortilla turns grease. For the enchiladas was definitely 10/10 birria 5/10 (consome shoud be more liquid) tortilla soup 2/10..
