We finally made it to Ernie’s after 10 years of talking about it because we’re not in the area. We were excited that a location opened in Temple so I could FINALLY try this place out!!! The owners of this place are so friendly & accommodating which was already impressive for me being a first timer. Their fried chicken had the perfect crunch and meat was juicy. It was so delicious in fact that when we left the car for less than 2 minutes our little naughty 4-legged monsters dug in and are my extra piece of chicken & roll. this just means the next time we’re passing through the Belton/Temple area we have to stop by and pick up a burrito & fried chicken.

I haven’t had a fat ernie since 95….and from the first bite i had such a nostalgic moment. It tasted the same as it did when I was in Junior High School. Even the salsa is the same. Thanks for keeping it original. I will definitely go back next time im driving through Temple.
