We were seated immediately and had a great experience from start to finish. Our server was friendly and attentive, which made everything even better. This is the first Mexican restaurant I’ve been to that brings both salsa and bean dip to the table with the chips — such a nice touch!
The margarita was huge and definitely strong; I couldn’t even finish it. Our food came out quickly, piping hot, and absolutely delicious. I ordered the vegetarian poblano pepper dish, and the portion was very generous — I’ll happily be enjoying the leftovers for dinner later.
Overall, amazing food, great service, and excellent value. Highly recommend!

Stopped for lunch.
Just ok

Complimentary chips and salsa were ok, not great.
I got the #5 lunch meal, chimichanga with ground beef.
The chimichanga was smothered and almost soggy. The rice and beans were strictly average.

Service was ok, but not overly welcoming.
Restaurant seemed clean

I’ll probably try somewhere else next time

Ordered beef and cheese enchiladas. Tortilla shells was tough and hard to chew. Husband ordered shrimp nachos. Everything was extremely salty. Table was wobbly. Bathroom was shady. Just not a pleasant experience.

5/5 stars!

We had a fantastic dining experience at Chapala Restaurant in Weaverville! The food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. Our hostess was warm, welcoming, and polite, making us feel right at home.

I want to apologize for a awkward moment at checkout – I was still savoring my meal (it was that good!) and didn’t respond to the host’s kind farewell. Please know it wasn’t rudeness, just a enjoying-a-great-meal moment!

We’ll definitely be back, and I can’t wait to try more of their tasty dishes. If you’re looking for a wonderful dining experience in Weaverville, look no further than Chapala Restaurant!

Thank you for a great meal and warm hospitality!

We were at a BnB close by for Christmas and came here as no other options were available.

This may not be a fair rating as it was the holidays. But we stood at the door waiting to be sat for 5 mins. I eventually went to look for someone. They pointed my family to a dirty table and said have a seat. I told him it was too dirty and he said server would come clean.

After another few mins, a server came to take our orders. We only ordered waters as we were very skeptical. Our table was never cleaned and we never received our water. We left.

When we went for an early dinner, we were seated next to the bar where a patron was playing loud music on his phone and staring at both my girlfriend and me in a way that made us very uncomfortable. We asked to be moved—already a bad sign that the staff allowed this behavior to continue over maintaining a pleasant atmosphere for guests.

I ordered tacos and specifically asked for no bacon, yet they arrived with bacon mixed throughout. The waitress also took several reminders for basic things like water. When I mentioned the taco issue to the manager, he rudely said, “Yeah, they come with bacon—I told you that.” I replied, “And I told you I can’t have pork and requested they come without.”

When we cashed out, the manager continued to be short and dismissive. That kind of attitude does real harm to a business. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, especially visitors from out of town. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had.

First time customer. My meal was late, and when it arrived the steak was grisly. Asked for something else, but it didn’t arrive before my daughter was finished with her meal, so I asked for it to be cancelled. The manager replied “sir, don’t waste food” and told me there was nothing wrong with my food in the first place.

I was not impressed with Chapala Mexican restaurant. The grilled chicken fajitas were 80% peppers, onion, and tomatoes, and had maybe 3 ounces of chicken. The guy said they use half a pound. I’ll post the picture, and it’s a very small fajita pan. They provide three little taco sized tortillas with the fajitas, then charge you for more, instead of giving you larger tortillas or a couple more. That turns the $12 fajitas into $14 fajitas. I guarantee everybody asks for more so they can eat the rest of their peppers and onions after the tiny bit of chicken is gone. The shredded chicken taco seemed like a plain, boiled chicken breast was shredded and put on a tortilla. Zero seasoning. On any of it. The most flavorful part of the meal was the salsa. The only reason I’m giving them three stars instead of two is because service was friendly, attentive, and prompt.

First time here and the last. The food was very bland. Service was just as bad. I get its 2 pm on a work day, but that’s no excuse. Save your money and go elsewhere.
