Our Host was also our Server. He sat us at a HUGE booth, which can fit 4-7 people (there were only 2 of us). The Drink Menu is extensive. Since we didn’t know if we were expecting, I didn’t take advantage of the Key Lime Pie Martini. Will more than likely be back to try this! Appetizer/Menu and pricing were as expected (on the higher end of things, but it was my Birthday, so it was ok). We got the Hot Crab Dip for an Appetizer. Could’ve used more bread. Husband got the Wild Boar Lasagna and I got the Coconut Curry Shrimp Bowl. All 3 Dishes were great! It got awkward after our Server took our empty plates, since it took him awhile to bring us our bill. We didn’t know if we had to get up and pay, or if they thought we stayed at the hotel, to charge our room…Husband had to take out his wallet, and put on the table, to show we were ready for our bill.

Enigma was definitely a letdown compared to other similarly priced offerings downtown, like Sabatino’s right down the street. I felt that the prices asked for the quality of food and service we received didn’t seem fair, and I probably wouldn’t return. Also, it seems like most of the items you see in pictures online aren’t available currently at the restaurant (surprisingly small menu actually)
Most notably:
-The chicken breast in the pasta was cooked dry, and quite chewy.
-The lemon wine sauce tasted like straight olive oil (had to ask for lemons, to make the sauce taste better)
-The water glasses that are set at the table didn’t get filled until halfway through our visit
-The service was awkward. Someone different from our server took the cash we paid and then never brought back our change????
-Whatever mushrooms (Shiitake??) were used in the stroganoff had a weird texture and taste to them, kinda sour??? (spoiled?)
-The prosciutto was cooked and hard?? Why would anybody cook a ready-to-eat piece of dry aged meat??
The meal wasn’t horrible, but definitely not worth the price tag.

Great restaurant downtown in the BW Hotel. Fantastic food and service. Nice decor and a beautiful place to have an “A” class meal. The chef is very artistic with the plating of courses.

I loved the cucumber martini. The duck was excellent, and I tried my husband ‘s salmon, and it was good. In my opinion, I preferred the duck.

Food was way too salty for a $55 buffet. The servers were on top of our table but their attitudes could have been a little more pleasant. The restaurant is really nice, but I just don’t see myself eating there again.

Food was good and worth the price. However, the decorative hats did not hold their shape well when placed on the head. Decorative hat and Steak Frites photos attached.

Came here for our 17th wedding aniversary from WI and will never be back. We ordered the NY Strip medium got it well well done, ordered the bison ribeye medium rare and got it rare rare. Potato fingerlings were dry and bland and sprinkled with cheese that made it dryer. Bacon was good that came with the poor bussel sprouts. The garden salad tatsed great hard to mess that up so gave the one star for that and the garlic soup would never recommend to anyone. Felt bad for the server as Im guessing he knew the food was horrible but we did not tell him as he did not ask us how the food was. For the prices on this menu would definitely expect higher quailty food and service, unfortunately we have had exceptionally better food and service at applebees for a 1/4th of the cost.

Our waiter walked past us numerous times and don’t acknowledge any time we tried to call for him. Other staff did the same and nasty looks. The gentleman that sat us (host) grabbed us refills, desert menu and bill because our waiter refused us the time of day. The meal I had was the lemon Italian chicken and there was enough oil to soak through an entire cloth napkin. This was supposed to be a romantic vacation dinner and it was nothing but a disappointment.

This place absolutely has the potential to be one of Rapid City’s five-star restaurants. The food was phenomenal. The biggest problem we had was the only waiter that was working. He was very polite but not very helpful. We were asked what drinks we wanted but we’re not offered a beer list or wine list or cocktail list of any kind. He asked us if we wanted dessert after the meal. But again no dessert list was presented.
