I started with their most popular dessert—the Extreme Fruity Pebbles Funnel Cake—topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and a crown of Fruity Pebbles caramel apple. It was over the top but absolutely delicious! Perfect for sharing between two to three people.
I also tried the spiral potatoes topped with Hot Cheetos—crispy, flavorful, and addictive. The cheese dog was incredible, with a legit cheese pull, and the nachos were just as tasty. I love that everything is made fresh daily—the only thing frozen is the ice cream!
Get through this cold winter with some amazing food from @Endless_Summer_Sweets_!
Endless Summer Sweets on on Shattuck Ave in Berkeley, CA.
Located directly on Shattuck Ave. and tucked in between Durant Ave/Channing Way in the heart of Berkeley, Endless Summer Sweets (which is open year round) has been serving the East Bay community ever since 2009. As I mentioned in the previous paragraph, I came here on a whim since I didn’t want a full-on meal and more of a snack to fill me up. I arrived at around 7:30pm on the evening of 10/16/21 and as expected, there was a long line of people waiting to get their comfort food. Which is a good sign since I knew I would be in for something good.
I ended up ordering their “Chicken Apple Grilled Hot Dog” (for $5.00) complete with a small soda and a “Mini Funnel Cake” complete with powdered sugar & strawberries (for $6.00). Total time it took was a rather quick 10 minutes even though there were nonstop customers in here. My hot dog arrives first and I was very impressed with the toasted hot dog bun and large portions they offered. I completed dressing this up with mustard, mayo, ketchup, & relish.
As far as the funnel cake, this was very delicious and 5-star worthy. It was so good I didn’t even take a photo of it (which is a cardinal sin for me since I ALWAYS try to snap a picture) prior to eating it. It definitely had that state fair taste to it and is something I could literally enjoy eating year-round. The interior of this place is fun, lively, and actually offers ample seating for families and couples.
All in all, “Endless Summer Sweets” is an excellent above-average place that I highly recommend. The selection of sugary sweets in addition to cotton candy and popcorn is a place kids will love. And the hot dog/corn dog selection is sure to please people of all ages. When you factor in the ambiance, experience, customer service, prices, and quality of food, I would have to rate Endless Summer Sweets an above average four stars.
It was Friday night and I just got to the Cave from work. We were craving something sweet and started the Google search for anything close that sounded remotely good. That was a fail.
And then someone whispered … FUNNEL CAKE. I mean where on a Friday that wasn’t a fair around me was going to serve me some funnel cake. The whispering kept getting louder so naturally my fingers started typing “Funnel cake near me”
At that moment is when Endless Summer Sweets appeared on my screen. Am I getting catfished? I quickly searched for them on Google hoping not to see the “PERMANENTLY CLOSED” when I clicked the business. OMGeezy .. they are still open. But in Berkeley, CA. What the heck. All the way from Vacaville, CA? Can I do it? Hell yea .. I did. And oh boy was I a happy camper.
Made the trek to the East Bay around 6 PM on a Friday afternoon. Now y’all Bay Area peeps already know, trying to go down 80W on a Friday during commute hours is insane, but hey .. when someone whispers FUNNEL CAKE in your ear hole .. you get the moving.
I AM SO HAPPY WE WENT. Yes, I capped you. I mean .. I wish I could’ve gotten one from every item on the menu, but I couldn’t, not on the first go .. or can I?
I didn’t, lol .. what I did get was a regular funnel cake (2 please) and a strawberry cheesecake caramel apple. Holy moly … best decision I made in my life .. well at that time.
FUNNEL CAKE
It was warm, crispy on the outside, chew in the inside and showered in that white dust of sugar. #nomnomnom
The portion was average size and it was amazing until the last bite.
STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE CARAMEL APPLE
Crispy, delicious green apple used. Perfect blend of crushed strawberry, graham cracker and white chocolate. It came already cut and ready to be eaten. I’m sure if you wanted it whole, they would’ve given it to you like that.
BRICK AND MORTAR
Styled so cute, loud and inviting. Little store front but boy it packed a punch with their menu. Tucked in a little strip, some parking in the front, but we ended up circling the block 3 times before we parked up the street in the High School parking lot. (No I do not recommend parking there, but it was what it was).
All in all, whether I am in the area or not, definitely coming back here, cause that’s what we do when we fiend for funnel cake in the middle of Autumn.
