My friend and I decided to finally try the brick and mortar business out of a food truck I had visited awhile back. If I may be honest, the service at the food truck had left me underwhelmed so I wasn’t in a hurry to visit their location. After a year or so of being open, today was the day we decided to go. The ambiance was nice, and put me in the feel of a cool date spot or a nice lounge. Music was playing loud on the speakers but it wasn’t a deal breaker. Upon sharing with the lady at the register that this was our first time there, she politely told us how to order. She was super pleasant and bubbly which definitely was a highlight of our visit. I opted for the Cajun chicken Alfredo with sausage and my guy ordered the mild lemon pepper wings and fries. My food came out about ten minutes before his. Just on looks alone I was skeptical. Keep in mind it had been a few years since I ordered from their food truck but I remembered their Alfredo to be a winner. This order was not. The chicken was very dry and not plentiful at all. There was no Cajun flavor anywhere near this dish though you could see that it was sprinkled on top. The sausage was overcooked but because it’s Conecuh sausage (iykyk) it was tasty as it always is. The Alfredo sauce was very bland, lacked any sort of flavor that I remember it having, and didn’t cover all of the noodles. My friend stated that his wings were on the spicy side (he ordered mild) so he would hate to see what the hot flavor profile was like. He couldn’t finish them all and decided to take them to go. Our food came out in to-go containers anyway even though we were eating in. Not sure if that was on purpose or they had run out of their usual plates. I really wanted to like this place. I had recommended it before to a friend that wanted a place that served good drinks since I had heard this was a high point here, and her and her family loved their experience. As for our food, it left me wanting to go to another restaurant where Alfredo is served the right way. Don’t let my review stop you from trying this place out. Maybe it was a new cook. Maybe they were having an off day. Maybe there are better choices on the menu. I don’t know. As for me, I don’t plan on returning anytime soon.

I ordered off Uber Eats. The food truck used to be delicious but this location isn’t. I ordered wings and fries. The wings aren’t of good quality as far as the meat & hot wings were barley tossed in sauce. The chicken was over cooked and hard to chew. The fries were warm but soggy. I also paid extra for sauces and I didn’t receive the one that was included nor the one I paid for. I also tried calling 2x and didn’t receive an answer. A waste of money.

100/10 experience! The lemonade and food are to DIE FOR! The servings are very pleasing, all dishes are setup to be pleasing to the eye. Every time we come here, it never disappoints. The band sounded beautiful, the singers voice was as smooth as butter. Service was speedy and friendly. This place is a must try in Bham, AL! You’re missing out if you don’t try it at least once!

Encore Rouge: A Downtown Birmingham Gem

Encore Rouge brings a unique blend of upscale street food and Southern charm to downtown Birmingham. As the ROTN crew—Matt, Grim, and Carrie—we had the chance to try their new brunch menu, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish.

The live band added an energetic yet relaxed vibe that perfectly suited the space, making it more than just a meal but a memorable outing. The attentive staff ensured everything ran smoothly, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming.

The Food

The brunch menu offered a mix of classic and creative dishes. The breakfast platter—eggs, grits, sausage, and a waffle—was simple yet satisfying. The shrimp and Cajun grits packed bold flavors, while the peach egg rolls offered a sweet and crispy treat. The breakfast dip was rich and perfect for sharing. To top it all off, their signature lemonades were refreshing and delicious, a perfect complement to the meal.

Final Thoughts

Encore Rouge is a must-visit for anyone looking for a fun and flavorful dining experience in Birmingham. With great food, a lively atmosphere, and live music that enhances the experience, it’s the perfect spot for brunch or any casual outing. We can’t wait to come back!

Food was really good! Staff was helpful and a fun atmosphere. Music was a little loud(just made it hard to talk to each other), but not much talking happens when you start eating anyway!!

Went there Saturday 4/5/25. Just trying to catch a meal and have some drinks before attending a concert. Walked in the place was super crowded which was no problem. My friend ended up finding us a booth while I was ordering. The tables weren’t cleaned off from the last customers and no one came to clean it we ended up having to do it ourselves. I ordered our food which were two burgers one no onions and one no tomato and loaded chicken fries with a side of fried okra. I got the okra first you could tell it was not freshly cooked it wasn’t even warm and soggy. We waited a while for our food. In the wait we decided to try the bar the guy behind the bar had no customer service whatsoever, I understand you were making drinks but a simple “I’ll be right with you.” would’ve suffice. So I seen him fix a flight so the lady standing behind the bar who was also the waitress came and asked us did we need help. I told her I was interested into getting two flights she told me $50 each…okay that wasn’t an issue so I asked the flavors she told me she wasn’t sure of the flavors that the bartender could better help me with that so he finally comes he can’t do a flight because he didn’t have enough alcohol left to do but one…so I asked for the caramel apple frozen drink he couldn’t do that at this point I walk off and back to the table. The food finally comes I eat a fry without paying attention and look down they have giving me uptown fries and it has shrimp in it and I’m allergic. So I call the waitress to let her know I ordered two loaded chicken fries and got this and I’m highly allergic she just stood there saying sorry all nonchalantly and the burgers were not fixed at all how we wanted. At this point my throat became irritated my friend was furious but I just told her I’m not stressing we got up and we left. I had benedryl available but trust I will not ever be going back. Sad you can’t support your own and trust to say all sales are final as thought they won’t make mistakes and the customer has to be stuck with it and a bar that can’t keep liquor!!!!

The food is great, customer service is good but could definitely be better. You walk up to order then sit down at a table. They have a no refunds sign where you order so definitely make sure you get your food. Prices are pretty decent and the portion sizes are good. Definitely enough to split. My friend and I got The Cajun chicken and shrimp Alfredo, Rockefeller fries, hot lemon pepper wings, & 2 frozen strawberry lemonades. It totaled to about $60. We split the food and had leftovers! No wait for the lemonades, pasta and fries. Those came out instantly! We had to wait an hour and 15 for the wings. We had to remind the employees twice and since there were no refunds we just took those to go. Other than that, It’s a good atmosphere. I love that it’s a black owned business. It’s a vibe in there.

After following the food truck for over a year, the brick and motar location leaves a lot to be desired. The pasta I ordered was overcooked and extremely dry; what little sauce there was on my pasta was lumpy, tasteless, and not heated through (the pics show it all). Plus, the music and vibe of the restaurant may be better suited for a night crowd as I found the music too loud and the vibe chaotic during what was supposed to be a relaxing lunch.

First off I love their Alfredo. This is the first time I came and was not satisfied. Came in tonight on my break in order Cajun Rockefeller Alfredo 3 meat trio. I pay$ 25 and only got chicken. I’m so mad, I couldn’t even go back and let them know my order is messed up.

In the past, I have had the food truck several times when it was near my area. I wanted to try the restaurant so since my friend had never tried decided to let them. We arrived at the restaurant, no wait to order food. We set at bar since all the booths were taken. I do wish bar seats were a little bit higher for shorter people eating at the bar. I ordered the cajun rockefeller chicken and shrimp alfredo in the past got without the rockefeller. Due to seafood allergy, my friend order the cajun rockefeller chicken alfredo and 12 piece wings with mild lemon pepper. For drinks, I had peach strawberry lemonade, which is amazing. He had strawberry lemonade. When our order arrived, they advised ran out of rockefeller, so it was only on his dish, which was kind of a disappointment because I was really looking forward to it. My friend did let me get a bite, and it seems like it tastes very good, so I really hate they ran out. The wings took a long time to come out, but once they did, I tried them too. I normally don’t eat spicy food, but they are very delicious. So for people who can handle spicy food, I do recommend it. Later, he ordered me crown apple caramel daiquiri, which was very good he had the blue raspberry hunch punch daiquiri, which he said was good. I do plan to go back one day and hope they are not out of rockefeller so I can truly experience. Definitely recommend this restaurant, and the lemonade is MUST!!!!
