My family’s been coming to Empire for the last 20 years, even after we moved 30 min away, this is still our primary Chinese takeout spot. My biggest mistake was not leaving this review sooner. Food is always great, incredibly quick. Sure, prices have gone up but food cost doesn’t just affect consumers, it affects businesses too, so while not ideal, I get it. Yesterday, my buddy and I ordered some food for carry out on our way out of his storage unit. Come to find out, if you don’t leave by 9pm, they lock you in, literally. I called Empire back to tell them of the situation, and without hesitation, they offered to bring our food to us at the storage unit despite being 5 minutes to closing by the time we figured out that the police officer’s code wasn’t going to work (we thought we were gonna have to stay the night). Not only that, when he realized our situation, he went back out to a gas station to get us utensils to eat our food there *and* got us 2 drinks. We ended up getting out very shortly after, but it really stuck in my head that this is one of the nicest things a complete stranger has done for me. I didn’t need any other reason to keep coming to Empire, but this validates my love for this place and the people that run it. The best part is the food was still warm when we made it back home. Can’t thank the Empire team enough.

I thought this place had the best sesame chicken I’ve ever tried. It didn’t have too much breading like most places have, they don’t try to rip you off with half bread.

I really like that they give you platter options because I love to order general tso’s chicken with my chicken fried rice and broccoli
I recommend their platter choices are really good. The service could be alot better. They do rush you on the phone and are not friendly. They don’t smile or say “thank you,” “you’re welcome” or “have a good day” but they just have good food.

It’s been about a year since I ordered from here. And I quickly remembered why! Prices have gone up, food quality way down! I ordered the sweet & sour combination meal, fried meat dumplings and got steamed…. Everything tasted old, like it had just been reheated/refried. Put in a plastic to go container and a bag. Zero care in food quality and taste!! Will definitely not be back! Total waste of $50+ We ended up just tossing it in the trash! Save your money & stay away! You’ve been warned!

I ordered food from Empire restaurant and spend $65.It was really bad.I ordered steamed dumplings, vegetables lowmein, sweet& sour chicken with hot and sour ,wonton soup.look at picture of sweet and sour chicken, dumplings were so bad and taste like raw flour and lowmein were without vegetables and doesn’t taste good. When I called them the manager hung up on me. Then asked me to contact door dash. I had the worst experience and won’t recommend this place .

I’m not really sure why so many people rated this place a 1. This is one of the best carryout Chinese places I’ve ever tried and it’s now a staple among my friends. From the shrimp toast, to the fried rice and lo mein, to the main courses, everything we’ve tried has been very good. For a quick carry-out Chinese meal, you can’t do much better than this place.

I don’t usually right reviews based on one bad experience, but this was egregious. I ordered beef chow mein, expecting fried noodles, but this slimy bowl of bland boiled beef and vegetables is apparently what passes for chow mein at this place. No, they didn’t send me the wrong order, this is actually what they claim chow mein is, contrary to what it is anywhere else.

Ordered chicken chow mein for pickup. When my wife got home with the food it was a bowl of slimy veggies and chicken with a side of rice and crispies. No noodles! Not only was the food wrong it was nasty and bland, that’s an accomplishment. Haven’t called them yet to tell them and ask if they gave the wrong dish but honestly I’m not interested in driving back to get nasty Chinese takeout. Oh well.
* Just got off the phone with them, they straight up hung up on me first, called back and lady told me “chow mein, no noodles, lo mein have noodles, chow mein only veggies. Not sure ANYONE would have thought that. Just for reference this is what Google has to say about that: In English, chow mein means fried noodles and lo mein translates to tossed or stirred noodles. Because both dishes are variations of noodles, the main difference in chow mein and lo mein lies in how the noodles are prepared. Pretty sure there should be noodles or else there is something I’m missing. Welp, time to dispute the charge.
