Empire Ginger has really gone downhill. Last few times we had gotten food there we felt the quality had decreased and we started ordering elsewhere. It got late Sunday night and they were still open so we decided to give them a try again. Big mistake. An egg roll and cheese wontons were missing from the order. We called but they already closed. I did not get to my dinner as the soup and appetizers were filing. Monday, when I went to have my leftover, untouched dinner I found it was loaded with mushrooms which we specifically asked not be in my food as I am highly allergic to them. We called, they argued. They insisted on a picture of the food with the mushrooms as the lady who we spoke to said “I cooked it myself and there were no mushrooms”. We sent a picture (included in thread)They replaced the missing and incorrect food. They also wanted the incorrect mushroom laden food back – fine. Today I decided to have the replacement food as I was too aggravated to eat it yesterday. Now not only were there no mushrooms but the house special Mei fun had a few strips of chicken, a few strips of pork and two dried out shrimp. NEVER again, never. So disappointed. They deserve no stars but got one so I could leave the review.

We ordered over $80.00 worth of food for dinner and everything was so tasteless, soggy and inedible. I called to try and either get remakes or a refund and was told over and over again they don’t do returns or remakes. In this economy to not even try to make the customer happy or remake inedible food is insane to me. Ive been a server a bartender and a front of house manager and this is not how buisness is done. I will not be back neither will my family and unfortunately we are out almost 100.00 on food I need to season and reheat to enjoy. DO NOT EAT HERE.
Also my husband told them I had a shellfish allergy and im now slamming down benadryl and my night is wasted with bad food and an allergic reaction.
We ordered general tsos (soggy with no flavor, the rice was hard with no flavor or salt for that matter)
Mango chicken (flavorless and cold)
Duck Ramen (duck was greasy, no flavor, no crisp)
Dumplings (dough was thick and middle was again tasteless)
Beef lo mein (greasy, soggy, no flavor even soy sauce cant save it)
Garlic broccoli (surprisingly the best thing we recieved but was still lacking flavor)
Chicken wings ( crispy but no flavor not even salt. Flavorless)
We tried to a pot luck type of dinner with my mother in law and all of use were beyond disappointed. I would have rather had a double cheeseburger from McDonald’s smh.

the chicken broc rice was good and order came out fast but the pork dumplings were AWFUL. honestly the worst i’ve ever had and im a huge dumpling fan. The dough is so thick, there’s barely any pork, idk they just SUCKED

The food is always fresh and delicious. I wish i found them sooner!! They have an extensive menu of some unique items, always consistent and excellent. I am super picky about Chinese, easily in the top 3 best on long Island. I love the 4 seasons with spinach but , all seafood, dim sum is just sooo good! Enjoy this local gem.

Scam! Food is bad, i ordered fried dumplings and fried scallops, the dumplings were a ball of thick dough, and seemed OLD, the scallops weren’t cook all the way through, and when paying they charge more than the price on the menu( after tax) they do not have heat in freezing temperatures so be ready to be super cold inside there, I will never buy here again

Been coming here for years. Best Chinese in area. Not sure why people are judging the restaurant on appearance since most take out places aren’t always up to date.
Awesome flavors and always fresh. The sesame chicken is juicy white chicken and great taste. Not chewy like most places.

Empire Ginger, is known for having the best dumplings on The Island, and they definitely do, but don’t sleep on the rest of their menu, incredible soups, chef specialties dishes, etc.

We order from Empire Ginger at least once week! All the food is great! We usually have it delivered and they’re always prompt and courteous! Jen usually takes our order and she is always so sweet! She always goes out of her way to make sure that my son gets his fortune cookies and is very concerned that my other son has a shellfish allergy. I don’t have to tell her each week about his shellfish allergy because she knows and she remembers. You must try this place! Empire Ginger, the food is delicious and you’ll be pleasantly surprised! Bon appétit!

I am very disappointed ,I have been dining by take out for several years. The food is always great! But tonight the portions were so minimal. General Tso chicken is only one size only 12 pcs of chicken and 3 PC’s of broccoli for 12.95 and the boneless spareribs we only half filled container! I will not be ordering anytime soon!
