Had our first taste of their empanadas. Met a regular inside who recommended every item on the menu. He was right. We loved all of the 5 empanadas we got! But if I have to pick favorites, i will say the lobster and crawfish, beef and the guava and cheese! Those were top notch. I wished they were bigger though!

We came to buy frozen empanadas to stock our fridge, and aside from the standard 4-packs, we also got the lobster ones! Absolutely perfect when we cooked them up at home, and also got to have the chicken stew over rice which was fantastic and such a cozy, perfectly delicious comfort meal. Genuinely one of the best spots in NJ.

We were at the Food Truck Festival in Passaic NJ and Empanada Guy was there. We recognize it on Beat Bobby Flay and it looked so good on TV so when we saw it at the festival we were so surprised. Now we had so much food already from the Festival so we only share one to get a taste. They had a whole list of empanadas on the menu but we decided to ordered their beef empanada. The ground beef filling was tender and juicy with rich and savory flavor. Don’t get us started with the fresh Sofrito giving us that wonderful slightly sweet and tangy taste.

Absolutely subpar both in quality and service. And at $6 a piece that’s a problem. The pulled pork wasn’t even seasoned at all and it was incredibly dry. The beef tasted like it was left overs from a chili cookout.
Placed and order at the truck for a beef and pulled pork empanada, was told had to wait five minutes. Meanwhile, I literally watched as he served 2 other people in line after me the same exact order without waiting?? I had to cut back in line to tell the guy “did you forget about me??”
All he did was point at me and ask for my order again. Apparently all empanadas came with a side of short term memory loss today. Worst empanadas I’ve ever had. Won’t be back.

The empanadas were wayyy to expensive for the quality of them. To be sincere they were pretty bad didn’t even taste like a regular actual empanada. I got 2 beef empanadas for 11 dollars when I could get 5 for 15 at another place. $5.50 for one single empanada is not worth it please use your money wisely and not on this.

I’ve been following the empanada guy on facebook for probably 10 years. I’m not even sure why – I’ve never eaten his food – I’m not sure how I even heard about him. I live outside his area and I do not drive long distances. Still, I keep up to date on the food trucks, check his schedule whenever he posts it and hope and dream that someday I can try one of his empanadas. Anyways, yesterday my husband and daughter went to the chatsworth spring festival and I stayed home with the baby. They came home and husband announces, “I have something for you!” and IT WAS EMPANADAS FROM THE EMPANADA GUY. HE DIDNT EVEN KNOW ABOUT MY LONG STANDING OBSESSION, HE JUST RANDOMLY BROUGHT HOME A PULLED PORK AND A BEEF EMPANADA. They were both everything I ever dreamed of. Thank you Empanada Guy!

Last night the guy working the food truck in Medford was extremely rude to the guests and myself. I ordered 2 empanadas when he went to ring me up i said my wife was ordering and he seemed annoyed. Like he couldn’t justify that more people were ordering. Then after we got our food one woman was ordering and she ordered one and said she wasn’t sure what else she wanted to which he said “there is a line behind you”. The food is really good but may not go back for this reason.
