Lafayette… I need y’all to hear me for a second!!
I ate at Empanada Guy for the very first time and I am honestly still thinking about it. This place is a straight up GEM.
It’s a smaller spot but the atmosphere is awesome. Super welcoming, cozy, and just feels good being in there. The owner was incredibly nice and took his time helping me go through the menu like I wasn’t being rushed at all. You can tell he genuinely cares about what he’s putting out.
Now the food… wow.
I ordered one of every empanada they had and not a single one missed. Every bite was packed with flavor. Crispy, flaky, perfectly cooked, and the fillings were unreal. The flavors literally burst in your mouth. I’m not exaggerating when I say this is some of the best food I’ve ever had.
And the sauces… every single one was delicious. The chimichurri, the criolla, the sweet south. All of them took the empanadas to another level.
If you live in Lafayette or anywhere close and you haven’t tried Empanada Guy yet, you are seriously missing out. Go try it. Bring friends. Try multiple flavors.
This spot deserves all the love and support. Lafayette is lucky to have this place.

First time ever trying and I am now ABSOLUTELY obsessed! The owner was so kind and helped us through the menu on the different choices. We wanted to try the delicious birria empanada and my fiancé wanted to try one count of the boudin. Both were incredible! I am now a dedicated customer and will always come back❤️

First time here after following them on social media from the first day. Absolutely delicious food. We never even really needed the homemade sauces with it although I ate the sauces plain. The empinadas are all very good and a great mix on traditional and Cajun flair. The staff was awesome and explained everything we ate before we ordered. The restaurant is small but comfortable. We will definitely make this a regular spot.

My personal favorite is the birria empanadas, my son is obsessed with the pizza empanadas, and my husband always goes for the chicken. Our tried-and-true, always-go-to is the original—you can never go wrong. And today we tried the king cake, and WOW… they were AMAZING! Consistently great food, friendly service, and a place we keep coming back to. Highly recommend!
