Reviews
Our one star review is based on Emmy Squared’s lack of consideration for the individuals that live in the vicinity of the restaurant.
Food delivery consistently occurs between 3:00-4:30am. Loud delivery trucks. Metal ramps being pulled in and out. Loud music blaring.
Emmy was asked by multiple parties to receive deliveries during reasonable hours (after 6am & before 9pm). Yet, no change after four months.
Ordered Chicken crispers as an appetizer they were tremendously overcooked.
Ordered the meat pizza which came out cold and extremely undercooked!! A individual who appeared to be the manager offered to make the pizza over it was made over however we were grossed out by the initial pizza and just wanted to leave at that point! Only to still receive a receipt being charged for the whole amount of the pizza… Upon asking would a credit be applied to the check? We received a 50% discount.
Pizza – we ordered the Ezzo pizza. Crust was good, could be a bit cheesier. Pepperoni was great! There was way too much honey on the pizza, which took away from the taste and made it really sweet (drenched in honey) We will possibly try again and get the honey on the side so we can have a better taste of the pizza sauce which was covered over by honey.
Mozzarella sticks – great taste. Not real crispy, but we did have it delivered, so could have been crispy when completely fresh. The marinara sauce was really good!
As mentioned, we will possibly try again, but if we get the same pizza, we will get the honey on in the side.
I personally wasn’t a fan of adding the tomato sauce on top of the pizza instead of on the base. The pizza pie -which was more bread than pizza dough and resembled more a bad focaccia than a deep dish pizza- wasn’t anything special, it wasn’t even fully cooked and the ingredients just weren’t flavourful. I left disappointed and thinking the food is way overpriced for what it is. The waffle fries were alright though, but nothing special or worth ordering again. My partner said the burger was good, although he ordered it medium rare and it arrived well done.
Another major issue, something that gives off a bad image is the employees hanging around the bar watching Love Island on TV. It’s not professional or appropriate for wait/kitchen staff to be leaning on the counters on their phones and sitting around watching TV while at work in front of customers. We wanted to give this place a chance but won’t be coming back, the food was average at best yet very overpriced. At their price point I’d expect much higher quality and better trained staff. Lastly, although our waitress was amazing and very friendly, it would have been great if she’d had written down our order and read it back to us to make sure she got it right, rather than trying to memorise it, maybe that way my boyfriend’s burger would have been served medium rare as he ordered it, not well done.
When our appetizer finally arrived, it was the wrong dish and cold. We informed our server and were told it would be corrected and comped. Then our pizza came out… also wrong. Again, we were told it would be comped and that we’d only be paying for drinks and one correct appetizer.
We later ordered dessert and waited 30 minutes before asking about it. We watched our server check with the kitchen, then come back to say it hadn’t been started. After we said we no longer wanted it (at that point we were already running late), we literally watched them yell into the kitchen not to bother making it. Not exactly subtle—or professional.
By this time, our friends at the other table had received their full order correctly, eaten, paid, and left.
To make matters worse, when we finally received the bill, the pizza had not been comped, despite being explicitly told otherwise. Because of how long everything took, we missed reservations we had afterward.
Mistakes happen. But repeated errors, extreme delays, poor communication, and then being misled about the bill is unacceptable. The service completely overshadowed the food and the night overall.
Disappointing experience, and unfortunately not one I’d repeat.
