Casual atmosphere & good food. Cheesy wild rice soup is excellent, as well as the north woods walleye. Kids menu 6oz steak was very good.

We were able to get in on a summer Friday night with short notice reservations. Masks were required when not seated and all of the servers wore masks. Hand sanitizer was available at the entrance but didn’t see it until on the way out. Service was pretty slow but our server was friendly and helpful. Tables were distanced inside but still very full with patrons. Good food but not truly steakhouse quality.

This is by no means the fanciest steakhouse out there, but we did not mind the casual vibe. My husband got the salad to start, which was a good, but pretty basic garden salad. I got the cheddar wild rice soup, and it was hands down the best soup I’ve ever had in my life. I would do almost anything to get my hands on that secret family recipe! My husband ordered a steak for his entree with a side of steak fries, which he said were very good. I ordered the chargrilled chicken breast, which came with wild rice and was topped with a sort of honey mustard sauce. The chicken was moist, the wild rice was cooked perfectly, and the sauce made the dish very flavorful. I would love to come back to visit Ely and eat here again!

Nice restaurant, food was good and reasonably priced! The stand out was the dessert coffees, they were off the chart yummy. I am a lightweight, so one was more than enough. But after a long pleasant drive this was a nice way to end the day!

We eat here any chance we get. Food has always been great and it’s impossible to go through Ely and not get the Bucky burger once you have had it. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for good food.

This my first time eating here. I can tell you this, it was a treat! The service was wonderful, the decor was rustic with their stain glass lights hanging, and the food was amazing. My fiancés salmon was probably my favorite between that and my hot Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich. We love Ely and now it’s one more place to love while we visit.
