As soon as you enter, you’re greeted by very nice décor and a welcoming atmosphere. The place has a warm and modern feel to it. We were promptly shown to our table and the staff were friendly and attentive from the start.
We opted for the Iftar set menu, which offered great value for money and a good selection of dishes to break the fast. To drink, we ordered the Pina Colada and Pistachio drinks – both were very refreshing and a great way to start the meal.
The food arrived promptly and in a well-paced order, which we really appreciated. For the mains we ordered both the ribeye and the sirloin steaks, and they were cooked to perfection – tender, juicy and full of flavour. Portion sizes were generous and by the end of the meal we were completely stuffed.
Customer service throughout the evening was impeccable. The staff checked in regularly without being intrusive and made sure everything was running smoothly, even as the restaurant became very busy. The facilities were also very clean and well maintained.
We spent around £45 per person without drinks, which felt very reasonable for the quality of food and service provided. Overall, it was a great experience and a lovely place to come for Iftar.
Highly recommend this place and would definitely return.
A special mention to Tony, who looked after us brilliantly. His customer service was outstanding – very attentive, friendly and professional throughout the evening. The rest of the staff were also great and made us feel very welcome.
Overall, a wonderful dining experience with great food, excellent service and a very professional team. Highly recommend and definitely deserving of a 5-star review. Looking forward to visiting again!
We have just had the most amazing evening celebration at Elvet. Food was amazing, all halal food and drinks.
The wagyu steaks and fillet steak were amazing! Beautifully presented, mouthwatering soft and tender. The sauces and sides were great too.
The cocktails were wonderful and non-alcoholic. They weren’t just drinks without alcohol but a celebration of taste without needing the alcohol. The waiters and cocktail makers were friendly and helpful. It was entertaining watching the drinks being prepared and seeing what different people ordered. We have a plan for what we are ordering next time….
There is a great kids menu and also meals for vegetarians but this is a meat and fish eaters heaven.
Arif, Tony and the Elvet team were brilliant as our hosts, thank you – we’ll be back!
For a special occasion, it’s worth every penny and worth saving up for a treat.
As it was my son’s birthday, they went above and beyond to make the occasion special by presenting a small Happy Birthday board, which truly made his day memorable.
We ordered the Korean wings, lobster, sirloin steak and loaded fries. Unfortunately, the Korean wings did not meet our expectations. The lobster was not as tender and succulent as anticipated. While I personally enjoyed it, my son did not. However, the loaded fries were excellent and the sirloin steak was perfectly cooked and succulent. The presentation of the dishes was outstanding and the pineapple juice was of very good quality. That said, a wider selection of juices, such as apple juice for children, would have been appreciated.
What truly distinguished our visit was the exceptional customer service. Habib and MJ checked on us regularly to ensure we were satisfied without being intrusive. Habib also kindly showed us the rear section of the restaurant, which was beautifully decorated with lights and mirrors. The children thoroughly enjoyed taking photographs there.
Overall, the service was outstanding and deserving of a 10 out of 10 rating. Thank you Habib and MJ for your professionalism and dedication. You are a credit to your company and made my son’s birthday celebration truly enjoyable.
A special mention to Tony who looked after us. Tony was very welcoming, friendly and attentive and made the experience even more enjoyable from start to finish. The service overall was outstanding and every interaction felt genuine and professional.
Highly recommended. I will definitely be returning. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The set iftar menu is £45. You can choose from several of their most popular mains and starters. I went for the bang bang prawns and the sirloin steak with mash. My friend got the mixed mini grill to start, the sirloin steak with chips. We also got a vegetable soup included in that and one bottle of complimentary water. Everything was delicious. What would have made it even better is having a small dessert included in that price. As no dessert was included we ordered the flower pot separately for £15. For east London this is definitely on the pricier side but you’re paying for good quality food, the experience and the ambience. The restaurant itself was very upmarket and I loved that they had a proper prayer room (segregated by a screen) rather than just having to pray in some cloakroom as is the norm around those sides. The waitress was also so lovely. I mean this with the greatest respect but it was so nice to have a waitress who could speak English! The only thing that marred the experience, which is not the fault of the restaurant was the couple who came and sat next to us. They brought their child with them who they gave their phone to who blasted cartoons throughout the meal. This is such an inconsiderate thing to do. If you are going to give your child a phone and not interact with them at all over a dining experience please buy them headphones so other patrons do not have to hear the cartoon and can focus on their adult conversation. Again not the restaurants fault. Just poor manners of the diners. Great place and would come again.
