Our first time here, we loved it. The staff was awesome and very nice. No complaints here. Prices were also reasonable. Definitely will be back. Also love the fact they have a little of everything. Large menu.

Decided to try this place for lunch today. They sat us right away. The place was pretty clean.Waitress greeted us right away and got our drink order

I ordered the ground beef nachos. My daughter tried a different combination of the tacos, and my wife got a mexican platter. The beef nachos were just chips, nachos and jalapenos with cheese over it. They weren’t bad. The chicken taco seemed like it was the frozen chicken type and not very good at that andwas just reheated. My wife didn’t care for her meal at all.

We tried the Mexican because of the name but it had Pizza and all different kinds of options. I’m not sure I would go back.

Online it says they close at 10 p.m. my friend and I got there at 8:50 for dinner. The hostess told us she couldn’t seat us for dinner and said the kitchen closes at 9. We turned around to leave and as we were going back out the door the manager came and said we still had time and that the kitchen was not closed yet. He sat us immediately at a table. I didn’t catch his name but I definitely appreciate him as Im handicap and had to use my wheelchair to get there. Our server was super friendly and attentive. I tipped her a $20 on our $140 bill and tipped the kitchen a $20 also for how delicious our food was. Everything was hot and fresh and great portions. I had a steak fajitas burrito and my friend got a beef chimichunga. I wasn’t sure how big the chimichunga was going to be so I told the server to bring 2 of them. It turned out that they were larger than we expected and definitely could have just gotten one. I figured I’d rather be safe than sorry and make sure that my friend would have enough to eat rather than taking the chance that the chimichunga might be small and she’d still be hungry. my friends mom got a chicken chimichunga, she loved it and couldn’t finish it all. To drink we had the bad Juans. I had the lime bad Juan. My friend and her mom both had a frozen strawberry bad Juans. They were all delicious. The bartender didn’t stiff us on the alcohol and we were all satisfied with the drinks as well! I definitely recommend the bad Juans and I think all the food is outstanding. Service was also good the only thing I wasn’t thrilled about was the hostess trying to turn us away before the closing time. If it wasn’t for that interaction i would have given 5 stars.

Elsa’s Boro Cantina impressed me with its friendly staff, fast service, and clean atmosphere. I ordered a variety of chicken wings, including Jamaican jerk, hot wings, and another flavor that I can’t recall. The wings were flavorful and cooked to perfection. To accompany the meal, I enjoyed frozen strawberry and a mix of frozen strawberry and raspberry drinks, which were refreshing and delicious. The overall experience at Elsa’s Boro Cantina was delightful, and I would recommend it for a casual dining outing with great food and drinks.

Outdoor seating, indoor seating, and bar seating. On our particular Saturday night, the bar side had wonderful steel drum music. The menu covers most of the Mexican classics. The standard Pizza was an interesting presentation that was surprisingly delicious. Though most of them need to smile more, the staff was knowledgeable, articulate, and courteous. A great place.

Overall Experience: The Boro was busy. Most of the tables were taken and the staff was working the big parties. The Staff were not stressed; taking time to be pleasant and attentive to everyone. TV lined the walls; showing a wide variety of events, from speed hamster shaving to hydrofoil racing. Not too noisy. Just another sports bar environment. The food was pricey, ten plus for majority of items on the menu. Quality of food received was not aligned with the cost. Some things were good while others bad. I think inconsistency was more of an issue here.

Food I had during the 2/19/23 visit:
– Dip Trio
– Chimichanga, Verde style, with Mexican rice and refried beans

How was the food…
Let’s start with the Dip Trio (3/5)
… We selected Ranch, Queso Blanco, Chile con Queso …
It was okay. The queso was creamy and cheesy. Chorizo had lots of good spice and flavor. My least favorite was the ranch. It was served with ruffled potato chips.

Chimichanga, Verde style, with Mexican rice and refried beans
I need to break this meal down into its different parts…

Main Dish) chimichanga pork carnitas Verde style. (4/5) This was good. The lime and cilantro went very well with the pork. Overall, texture of the deep fried tortilla was well done and crisp. And the portion was appropriate. If I come back I would get this again.

Side 1) Mexican Rice (1/5) overcooked white rice with no flavor with some reddish sauce

Side 2) Refried Beans (1/5) look closely at the picture in this review. The beans may have been cooked a third time on the plate. I was not able to eat them. Fun fact, I was able to pick up a piece and crumble it between my fingers. It was bad, no moisture.

Great food and staff. Sit at the bar with Sophia pulling beers and awesome margaritas. Be patient, limited staff because, well, you know. Support your local family owned business.
