Why Ellen’s Stardust Diner Is Worth the Wait
Reviews
The singing is fantastic and obviously what you go there for however the food was OK, not much flavour.
I saw reviews about the tip box being constant but we only had it once and you wasn’t pressured.
For 2x burgers, fries and 2 soft drinks was $86 including a 20% tip that was automatically added to the bill so it was clear on our visit by the staff you didn’t have to cash tip.
From the moment you walk in, the energy is electric. Talented performers are singing their hearts out while serving food, and somehow it all works — no gimmicks, just real skill, joy, and commitment. It’s fun, it’s theatrical, and it feels unmistakably NYC.
Huge shout-out to Nicole, who gave us fantastic service and delivered a beautiful ballad that stopped grabbed everyone’s attention. That kind of talent paired with genuine hospitality is something special.
The food hits the spot, the vibe is nonstop, and the experience is unforgettable.
This isn’t just a meal — it’s entertainment, nostalgia, and celebration rolled into one. If you’re in New York and want something joyful, loud, and uniquely memorable, Ellen’s Stardust Diner is a must.
The biggest highlight of this diner is definitely the singing waitstaff. They don’t just serve your food and take your order — they perform amazing Broadway-style songs right in front of you. It’s such a fun and unique atmosphere! Many of them are hoping to make it onto Broadway someday, so this place feels like a stepping stone for real talent.
Now… the food. Let’s just say you’re not here for a Michelin-star meal. It’s very average diner food, maybe even a bit below that. Nothing terrible, but definitely not why you come here. You’re paying for the show, the energy, the nostalgia, and the one-of-a-kind entertainment.
So if you’re visiting New York with friends or family and want something memorable (and loud), this is the place. Come for the singing — not the menu.
It’s one diner that everyone should visit atleast once. The servers are also performers and each one of them is a brilliant performer. It was one of the best nights we had in New York.
The food was also good and service was great. We were amazed to see how every server was performing and attending to guests with such ease and promptness.
