All the waiters are very talented and while working each of them takes a “break” to sing. They dream about working in the entertainment world and they use the tips to pay for the singing and acting classes.

Really fun dining experience with your waiter being the star of the show! We loved the performances and the food was pretty good! Don’t be deterred if you see a big line outside, it moves very quickly and all of the tables have a great view of at least some part of the performances!

Ellen’s was everything you imagined it would be but better. Top quality singers performing your favourite pop songs musicals and Disney. It was such a fun vibe. The service was great and they definitely work hard. Full transparency, food was meh, but you’re there for the experience. It’s a must for anyone that loves musicals. We had breakfast on a Friday morning. 930 no line.

An incredibly unique restaurant. I’m born and raised in the city, and this entire diner is such a special experience that you can’t really find elsewhere in New York. The food is typical diner food, but what really enhances the experience are the waiters that sing all meal long. The waiters themselves are incredibly sweet and bubbly, they clearly love their jobs! And they are so talented! Don’t expect to be having conversations over dinner here, though. It’ll be very loud. Also a 20% gratuity is added automatically.

This is not just any diner as it also has the added ingredient of fun! The food and service are fantastic. Being on Broadway, the waiting staff are hoping to be spotted, so they sing every 5 minutes getting diners involved. All staff had exceptional voices. For dinner, arrive by 6pm to avoid a long queue as reservations are not taken. A must do experience should you be visiting New York.

So pleased that I decided to stop off at Ellen’s Stardust Diner for breakfast on my recent trip! I didn’t have to wait long in a queue because I was on my own and happy to sit at the bar – the queue at 10am on a Sunday was not that long anyhow but inside was pretty full. Despite that, I wasn’t rushed to eat my food or drink up and get going; I was left in peace to enjoy the singing wait staff for as long as I wanted. The pancakes and tea were great, and I liked the fact that the behind-the-bar staff were singing along whenever there was a performance and they clearly looked like they enjoyed working there. I thought the whole experience was worth an extra tip – an hour and a half of brilliant entertainment to go with the food was well worth it.

Although it may seem like you need to check it off your vacation bucket list, you might be better off going somewhere else. It was an entertaining, but overrated experience all and all. The music was fun and it was definitely a unique experience but I would’ve preferred to just go to a diner that has good quality food. The food here was incredibly average/below average and the service was fair (although we had a waiter change half way through which was strange).

This is the second time I have been to Ellen’s. I highly recommend this spot! The place has a great atmosphere with some really talented singers covering songs on and off Broadway whilst also being servers. This is a family friendly fun place that you’d have to have no heart not to enjoy. The food is good I’ve had the burgers in the past which were yum. This time I had the brownie milkshake and nachos which were fab. You will have to queue for this place but it’s worth it. They also do breakfast too. A must see in NYC.

Got a suggestion from a friend to check this place out and I’m glad I took the kids. The estimated wait time was over an hour, but then one of the waiters said they were looking for a party of 5 and we got in almost immediately. The food was better than your average diner, but the performances were great and worth the extra cost. Probably one of the best things that we took the kids to. 10/10 highly recommend.
