Everything was good service was good the flavor of the food was on point, the wife had rib dinner and I had white fried chicken dinner.. We are stickers on the ribs and we approve seasonings and tenderness was very good… All the sides were flavored right the cornbread taste like cake with cinnamon butter across the top.. If there is one thing I have to complain about is the size of the chicken pieces.. They were pretty small for the price of the dinner I was expecting larger pieces.. But all in all we where happy with taste and flavor.. We will be back to try other dishes on the menu.. If the chicken portions were bigger I would have given a five star review.. Overall very good

The person who takes the orders over the phone and who handles the Customer an African-American lady with short blonde hair should not be in the customer service business. She has a terrible attitude and was bothered I WOKE HER UP SITTING AT THE COUNTER! but I placed an ordered a five wing dinner. She took my order and then when I came to pick my order up I only had 3 wings and what I call an extraordinarily small fourth 4th wing it was not a whole wing. when I called to let them know that I only got 3 1/2 wings and I had a five wing dinner. She told me oh we don’t have a five wing dinner. We only have a four wing dinner. Well why didn’t you tell me that when I placed the order?? instead of going back-and-forth I’m just leaving this review and the food was OK. The macaroni and cheese was full of grease. It was sitting in a vat of grease and I hardly got any green beans. Just mostly whatever smoked meat was in the green beans not a good experience at all.

This was my first time trying this restaurant and when I tell you it did not disappoint!! Everything single bite was delicious!!! Somebody’s big mama in the back whipping up food straight from the ancestors lol. The customer service was also great. I got the meatloaf with yams and Mac & cheese 10/10 would recommend. I will be back to try more!

I ordered a fish dinner and wing dinner both with yams and macaroni. Fish was good yams were good, but the macaroni and cheese was disgusting!!! It’s like all of these soulful restaurants in Cleveland don’t know how to use real cheese for macaroni and cheese!! They all use this nasty cheese sauce and all of their macaroni and cheese taste the same!! Like use real cheese stop playing with people!!

I got the meatloaf dinner with mac n cheese, dressing, yams, and greens via delivery. I give this spot 4.4/5 stars bc the yams were a touch too sweet for me and I like dressing to be a little more wet but that’s a small preference. Overall the meal was well seasoned, not too salty, and gave me exactly what I needed without having to do all the work. I’m happy and Itis is calling. I will be ordering again.

I ordered a roast beef With a side of yams and greens the yams were watery and too sweet. The greens were OK while I give them a one star because I don’t believe that they sold me this roast beef that was not edible. It was so dry. I’m sure other people had to call and complain on this particular day. I was so disappointed. I had to give the roast beef to my dog. He couldn’t eat it. I bought two dinners and some chicken wings to taste. Ok my dinner I had catfish and for the sides I had yams and greens. My yams were good but very runny and a whole lot of nutmeg. The greens were good but a little spicy. The presentation was horrible. My husband’s dinner were turkey chops yams and Mac and cheese. Again the presentation was terrible. Mac wasn’t good, and yams were running. While me entering cashier never looked up, and I had to speak first. By this restaurant being in Beachwood I was expecting the outside and inside to look a little bit better. This place looked like it was in the hood!

I gave them several tries while they were on cedar in university heights and the food was extremely salty and that was at least 3 yrs ago. So, I gave them another try today 01/28/2026 and I was just as disappointed today as ever that nothing had changed. I will not be back, unless I’m informed that their cooking style has changed. Sorry Ella Mae’s I’m just being honest.

My husband and I went on wednesday and then went back on friday, I had a catfish dinner with mac n cheese and greens also a side of baked beans, my husband had a perch dinner, I got my mom a porkchop dinner she said ” girl this food is good”. Everything was excellent, so flavorful and fresh. On friday my husband had the ribs and I had turkey chops, listen those ribs were everything no sauce needed, and the customer service is great her son is very respectful

A significant disappointment. While the staff are friendly, the food is simply not good. My school lunch food growing up tasted better. Furthermore, the pricing is excessively high—I paid $20 for a meal that I couldn’t even finish. Hoping I will come back eventually, and notice some improvement. I want this place to do well!
