I have had several dishes from here. The soul food was very well seasoned which I loved. This particular day I got my food to go. The next time we dined in. My dine in experience was not up to par as far as my service food was still good just wished it could’ve came out when each dish was done instead of waiting for it all. Sitting makes it lose its freshness but overall GREAT Food.

The time frame to receive your food is too long. The pork chops were not with the brown color when fried before smothered. The hot water corn bread was too sweet plus too hard. The deserts was cut too small and did not look fresh like the one in Marshall Texas.

Welcoming staff, excellent home cooked food and pleasant atmosphere. Fried catfish with satisfying crunchy cornmeal coating moist plump fish. Big sides of greens & purple hull peas yummy and hot water cornbread sweet and dense. Oxtails and over rice was melt in your mouth tender. Huge slab of strawberry cheesecake was drop dead delish.

Our second time eating their food. Once again it was tasty. Honey Punkin had fried Pork Chops, cabbage and mashed potatoes with gravy. Her plate came with 1 fried Chop. I had a 2nd Chop added because I knew I was going to eat some of hers. Chop was big and crunchy with a moist inside. Her sides was good as well. Potatoes seemed to be real mashed potatoes not boxed. I had smothered Pork Chops, yams and mac and cheese. My plate came with 2 Chops. Loved the chop. The gravy was good and seasoned well. Yams were the boom. Mac was delicious. I liked the hot water cornbread but my wife prefer the rolls. Prices are fair. The yams and mac and cheese portions could had been a little more. But like I said the prices were fair.

Soul food for sure. Whoever makes their meals definitely puts all their heart into it. Much love for cooking….. My husband had the Fried Smoother Porkchops with Mac&Cheese and I had their Fried Catfish with Purple Hull Peas which were made to perfection, Squash-Tomato-Okra which had sweetness of a casserole but hardiness of stew and Greens just enough tart and sweet. Enjoyed it all!!!!

Was super excited to finally try this place after hearing about it from social media. We were extremely disappointed that we waited over an hour and never received our food or even an update as to why it was taking so long. There were not very many people in there so it made no sense. They had also ran out of most of the stuff we were actually wanting to order. The staff was not very friendly and never even checked on us. Also the place was super hot and uncomfortable. We paid for our drinks and walked out.
