I started going back in early 2024. Every single time I’ve been to this restaurant, I’ve been treated very well. The food is always a 10/10, and the service is impeccable. The restaurant is very cozy especially the outside patio. I would 100% recommend it if you’re in the area.

We ordered delivery from here and it was amazing! We had the mixed grilled for two, which honestly could feed more people! Good for us though because now we have lots of left overs! It was outstanding! Each of the meats was amazing! The lemon potatoes, falafel, tzatziki, pita, were all delicious! Best Greek food I have had in a long time!

Visiting NJ, but wanted my Greek fix! Stopped here after some research. It’s located in a cute little village, full of charm. Inside was nice. Food was very authentic! Avgolemono was more chicken based, but tasty. Greek salad had delish Bulgarian feta, and potatoes were good. Only complaint was the saganaki was “flambayed” but I don’t know how. Zero caramelization or color and still tasted of ouzo. It wasn’t done table side like every other Greek place, which was odd. Everything else was good!

I overlooked Elia for a number of years until my girlfriend and I went there for a meal before a show at The Keswick Theater. To my surprise it exceeded expectations! I’m super picky about Greek food (I’m Greek) and Elia did not disappoint. The chicken gyro was out of this world (tender, juicy and flavorful), their tzatziki was perfect (lots of cucumber and garlic) and the galactobourico (custard topped with phyllo) was outstanding! I’m a regular and often do takeout—it’s a neighborhood gem!

Everything was delicious! We got the Greek spreads combo as an appetizer. It was hummus, tzaziki, and skordalia with warm pita and cucumbers. I had the lamb with green beans. Truly exceptional! It melted in my mouth. My husband got the beef and lamb gyro which he enjoyed too. We capped it off with dessert. I had the chocolate mousse and my husband had a walnut cake with ice cream. We are stuffed but happy. Servers were friendly and the restaurant itself is beautiful. Glad we had a reservation because it was busy (Friday night). Go! It’s awesome.

My family and I went here for dinner. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. We started off with side greek salads which were very fresh and delicious. I had the branzino with fresh spinach and lemon potatoes. Excellent! There was so much food I couldn’t finish it all. One of my granddaughters tore through her lasagna because she said it was really good lol. Not one complaint to be had. It’s a small place but able to accommodate our party of nine comfortably. Our server was very pleasant. She brought out my baklava with a candle and started singing happy birthday to me! This was my first time here. My daughter and her fiance loved it enough to come back and suggest we celebrate here. It was a good suggestion!

It’s a Greek restaurant in a Philly suburb. Therefore, it’s probably not worth asking questions about authenticity. This place is as “authentic” as any other Greek place you’ll find in the area, which means a lot of the spanikopita, gyro, souvlaki Greek classics that are ubiquitous in Greece, but more so at the touristy places than the real Tavernas. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing, provided everything is well prepared. At Elia everything is delicious.
We started with some dips and pita as an appetizer. Not the best tzatziki, hummus, whipped feta, and melitzanosalata you’ll ever try. They’re all a bit firm and served as scoops with an olive on top. It looks like breasts…maybe that’s on purpose to make it feel “maternal”? Who knows? But it’s fresh and flavorful. Perfect for nibbling while you sip wine and chat with companions. It’s BYOB, so bring your own bottle.
If it is warm enough and you can sit outside on their porch, you can easily forget that you’re in the US. Eat slowly and linger, experience the ambience, because that’s the best thing about this place, the vibes and the service. You get the laid back, friendly, warm hospitality (Xenia) that’s so integral to Greek culture that it’s literally the main theme of Homer’s Odyssey.
For our main course, we ordered the mixed grill platter. It had tender lamb chops, perfectly seasoned. Also, meat balls, chicken and beef skewers, sausage, and a giant pile of sliced souvlaki chicken & sliced lamb gyro loaf. Everything was flavorful: yogurt, lemon, garlic, cumin, oregano. And the portion was more than enough for three people. The lemon potatoes that come on the side are so good!
We finished our meal with a fantastic baklava. Seriously, order it. It’s clearly homemade…you can tell because it’s soft and some bites have whole cloves slathered in honey. Yum!
I like this place a lot. We go every six months or so, and we should probably go more. It’s a little on the pricey side for what you actually get, but not so much that I harbor resentment.
