Love this place. Have enjoyed everything I’ve ordered. Great rib tips, wings, jerk chicken, brisket, greens, ribs, burgers. My favorite is the jerk chicken honestly, and great coleslaw too! I only wish they were open a little later

We went to Elgin BBQ Pit after watching the show “Chicago Best” and reading reviews from Yelp. We purposely went on Sunday to have their Sunday special “beef short ribs”, but unfortunately this Sunday was not our day. They didn’t have it only on this Sunday (hence my 4stars).
So, we ordered beef rib tips dinner menu, it came with two sides. I should say the bbq was really good, well seasoned, tender and very moist. The portion was quite big for $12.99 (including tax). They gave you extra sauce (sweet, mild and spicy) to go with the meat. The restaurant itself is not that big, I don’t think it can fit big party. But, I overheard the owners kept picking up the phones since people were calling and ordering food for to go.
Overall: I highly recommend this local bbq restaurant.

We eat here all the time and every single time it hits the nail on the head on all accounts. The service is phenomenal and the food is some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had. I can’t believe I’m saying this but their jalapeño cole slaw is amazing (and I hate cole slaw)!

The sides were very small , i mean REALLY small. Brisket taco was good just needed more meat. The rib tips were okay but not enough to feed a 5 yr old. The ribs had good flavor but i also pay for quantity. Their large tip was 12 oz. of meat. A true rib joint dose not measure their rib tips they just fill the container. This place is not your average neighborhood BBQ joint, dont let the location fool you.

Good BBQ for the Elgin area. Pulled Pork sandwich and ribs were good. Fries were good. Cole slaw was good and had a slight kick to it. Mac & cheese was okay. Sauces were good. Not sure why this place gets bad reviews. First time here, and will be back again.

Read the good reviews and had to try it. Incredibly disappointed. Got the pick 3 combo. Brisket was very fatty and chewy, like meat gum. Next I moved to the pulled pork which was very dry and flavorless. I also ordered the jerk chicken but was so disappointed and the quality and taste of the rest of my food I decided to pass.
Onto the plus side, the quantity of food I ordered felt to be very good for the price I paid. However the quality was very much lacking. I drove an hour out of my way to try this and was left disappointed and felt like I wasted my money.
