We went to see the Darby Brothers Band and had a great time! The food was great and the band had the place jumping! Great venue on the water. Highly recommend!

Very nice place to meet with friends. We enjoyed a good variety of appetizers and cocktails. Ample variety of beers for all tastes. The restaurant has different ambiance, for dancing etc, depending the time of the day.

Great venue for our private work event. The upstairs dining was decorated and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. They even allowed us to connect to the Bluetooth and play our own music which was a nice offering. Shout out to Cody for his coordination efforts, the two wait staff assigned to our party and the bartender!

Separately, we enjoy coming here for comedy show nights and also a variety of live music.

Classic water side bar experience (in a good way)

The Electric Palm is full of surprises from the music to numerous events they have like comedy night. It’s loud and fairly expensive but what do you expect? The electric palm has yet to severely disappoint me and I would come back for more. Go back on different nights of the week if you want a different experience. Plenty of seating, food & drink options, and live music. It’s loud, but just sit outside if you can’t handle it. My pictures are only from one time that I went there so it’s all appetizers and drinks.

Oh, don’t get the catfish nuggets. They’re not good in my opinion, so much batter with no taste. ($14!). The fries and calamari were better.

Overall, don’t come for fine dining with perfect service, come for the experience and fun atmosphere. It seems like a lot of people are regulars who come here.

This was a nice find. The restaurant had a live band that we enjoyed and had a late night menu. We had wings, egg rolls, fish, fries, flat bread and funnel fries. Overall the food was good but none of us were a fan of the fish. My only real complaint was one of our bills was over charged by $10 and the tip was clearly marked on the receipt.

We were on a long drive back to Richmond and searched for a fun location to stop for lunch in which we found the cubby of paradise. The service was great and friendly, the bar tender was testing out new drinks and brought one over for us to try on the house called: The Extreme. Very relaxing and vibrant atmosphere with guests. They had specials going for Sunday football along with all games on the screens. Look to have live events on Friday and Saturday. Would recommend the cat cake sandwich and fish tacos!

Place rocks! Battle of band on a Sunday evening by the river in a covered deck, just beautiful!
I had fried oysters, steamed shrimp, and a salad, all was great! This is the perfect summer spot!

The Electric Palm (the Palm, as the locals call it), is a staple of the Hoffmaster’s Marina scene. If you haven’t heard of it, you’re out of the loop.

I often come down to this marina and often hear peals of laughter and live music flowing out of the neon glow that surround the Electric Palm. That, coupled with the near constant stream of cigarette smoke and motorcycle traffic made this a place that I knew I needed to visit.

On venturing inside one day, I realized that it’s almost exactly what you would imagine it to be. The bottom floor is basically a giant, open-air bar. On the weekends (maybe more often), they’ll bring in local bands to play all your favorite hits almost as good as you remember them. This is where the majority of people spend their time and I’ll admit, it probably would be a lot of fun. I will say, the music is loud; like really loud. I’m not a ear plug kind of guy, but if you were this would be the place to pull them out.

For this trip, I decided to skip the bar and go the restaurant area upstairs. Here the Palm gives a nod to the fine dining experience with a nice marble floor and some chandeliers that I have to assume are supposed to look like clams…or mermaids…or maybe a boat. Either way, it’s nice. They have indoor seating options and an elevated porch area that overlooks the marina.

We were quickly helped by a super nice waiter who grabbed our drink orders and food options pretty quickly. There have been whispers that some of the waiters here are similar to your aunt who lives in the midwest, smokes and calls everyone “honey”. That did not prove true for us on this visit.

We honestly found it kind of hard to talk because the music and general revelry happening below us was so loud, but you can’t be too upset when your ears are being barraged by songs from Queen, Earth Wind and Fire, Celine Dione and more.

The food itself was honestly great. We had a pretty large group so we ordered drinks and appetizers and there was nothing that I didn’t enjoy. The calamari was delicious, the fried catfish was a little flavorless, but that’s catfish am I right? Haha. The prices are reasonable.

All in all, I really enjoyed it here. It’s not a fine dining experience by any means, but it is FUN dining and you will almost certainly walk away with an experience or two. If not, just talk to a few of the salty dogs in the bar and steal some of their fishing tales. Give it a shot.

Stopped by here on a business trip. The outdoor seating was nice with view of marina and traffic backed up on I-95 south. Also had sports on TVs outside. Server was very attentive and drinks and food came out quickly. I had the salmon, rice and broccoli. Nothing to write home about, but was good enough. I would go back if in the area again. Close to historic town, so was nice walking around there afterwards.

Came here for an early dinner and enjoyed sitting outside for our meal. The seafood was fresh- got the crab stuffed shrimp and crab cakes. The coleslaw is a little underwhelming, needed more acid IMO. Service was great. Our server was very personable and nice to chat with. Drinks and good came out promptly. It’s a great spot to come after being on the water or out at the pool.
