The issue is that the DoorDash menu allowed me to choose a dinner with two sides, but it did not clearly show the meat option. Because of this, I didn’t realize the meal I selected was specifically a pork chop dinner.
To correct the order before it was prepared, I called the restaurant.
Unfortunately, the experience on the phone was disappointing. The person who answered was vague and dismissive, and there were others laughing in the background. When I explained the issue with how the meal appeared on DoorDash, I was told things like “You’re just going to have to eat the pork chops.”
When I called back to clarify, I was interrupted and told that the adjustment would only be made “this time” and that I would be charged next time. He also told me that I shouldn’t have ordered the meal and then called to change it, even though I was simply trying to correct what appeared to be a menu issue on the app. The call ended with him hanging up.
A woman from the restaurant later called back and was more polite and direct, but the main issue with how the meal appeared on DoorDash still wasn’t really addressed.
In the end, I received the food, but unfortunately I didn’t enjoy it. After the difficulty trying to correct the order and the experience on the phone, the meal itself didn’t live up to expectations.
I genuinely want to support local and Black-owned businesses, but professionalism and respectful customer service are just as important as the food itself. Experiences like this make it harder to return.
First time stopping by and definitely not the last
