This restaurant is old chool. I remember going to EL Zocalo as a little kid when they used to have a restaurant in San Francisco on Mission Street, until real estate makes things harder for restaurants that keep it real. Nothing is perfect, there are going to have bad days and good days like anything else. Overall the food is excellent and the price is decent considering the times. Yes they could be slow but they usually greet you with a smile, just be patient and order ahead. I am grateful that this place is still around.

Pupusas at this place are really good but their attention and customer service is not good. Besides rising their prices they force you to have their spicy salsa instead of the regular one. I called in for a to go order and I clearly said I wanted regular salsa and not the spicy one. I showed up to pick them up and the lady was confused about my order, something didn’t seem right and I ask her if I was getting the regular salsa.

The Salvadoran food is very good. Yet, the service was worse than ever, and before it was like waiting for molasses to pour. The waitress that served me took about half an hour to bring my food, and never came back. I wasn’t in a rush, in fact o needed to wait to pick up my dog from the grooming salon, so I waited to see how long she would take. For 40 minutes I waited. Finally, I was summoned by the grooming salon, and I needed to leave. I went to the register, and there she was seating at s table, yakking away with q visitor. She took one good look at me, and continued her chat. A couple of other employees that know me from my visits before came to help me. Otherwise. I wonder when she would have brought the bill.

The food is excellent, some if the best Salvadoran food I’ve ever had. I’ve been coming here for over twenty years and in all that time everything is still the same including the poor customer service, the unorganized business atmosphere, and a front door that the harsh ssf wind won’t allow to stay closed. Those are the reasons why only three stars are warranted, but if you can put up with those things, then you should try it because the food is very good.

This place is very good!! People are friendly there! They might say the food takes a while to make but that’s because its freshly made ! I don’t compare on looks I compare on how the food taste!! The pupusas are great !! Why because the dough is made right! THE fried fish is great!
