The restaurant is very cute inside, and we were excited to try it. Unfortunately, the service completely ruined the experience.
It took about 15 minutes just to get two beers and one drink. Then another 20 minutes passed before our waiter checked on us again. When we finally ordered food, everyone else at the table received their meals—except me. My order was completely forgotten.
I had been looking forward to trying their Mexican sushi, so this was especially disappointing. When asked about it, our waiter, Carlos, stated he wasn’t aware.. After waiting another 33 minutes with no food, I told my fiancée I was ready to leave. Instead of taking responsibility, he told me I “ordered too late.”
There was no accountability, no apology, and no appreciation for our patience. Very unprofessional. We will not be coming back.

last few times I ordered this place took almost an hour to make my food when I had been told it was going to take 20-25 minutes, and when I got my order I had no onions or sauce when they usually put that in the order. This time I came again they took and hour as well when I was told it would take about 20 minutes. This is ridículos and I dont think they should take this long especially when they dont even have as much customers waiting for their food. Last time I will be buying at this place

I’ll start off by saying that in my reviews I normally do not mention nor consider service, unless it was memorably bad or terrible. El Viejon doesn’t have the greatest customer service but man their mariscos trays are well worth the price and wait. All of their trays are well served, have an amazing taste to them and have fresh ingredients. I understand that their prices might be off putting to many but with todays inflation and seafood prices rising. I truly believe that their trays are worth the price to anyone who loves mariscos, just place your order at minimum 90 minutes beforehand, especially on busy days.

I’ve been there twice. First time the server was kind of rude but I’m not holding that against them but both time the food was great. I got the tempura rolls and California rolls. They were great and I will be going again. Service was really good the second time

Place is very nice food is very tasty But not my plate was a tostada mixta it had way to many pico de gallo not very many seafood it was almost like a vegetarian plate lol

I usually order to go when they had the little car across the street The shrimp cocktails to go are really good. I’m not gonna lie. I just think they are a little over price. I didn’t mind to pay at the beginning but for the restaurant I don’t think that’s their business meaning that they take forever to get you started on your food and everyone is running around. You can clearly tell that no one knows what they’re doing that everyone is doing one thing here and one thing there. It took an hour to get my food The Carne They serve is nothing but a skin there is no meat and with the side of beans and for that price you can get way better and more in other restaurants for that Price and to top it off my foot when he came out, it was cold to the touch. I was so disappointed about the service and everything else cause I thought it was gonna be really good and my bill was almost $100.and the empanadas come with nothing on the side they usually give you like a sauce or anything like I said the restaurant was a huge disappointment never coming back

We went to celebrate my daughter’s 18 birthday because we used to love this place and we had a very bad experience, we were a party of 7 not at lot ppl in the place one server for the few tables occupied and they took more than 40 minutes to serve our food, one of the orders was a ribeye and it was raw when asked to be medium well. The server never came to offer us a drink refill, we ask for lemons and nothing usually they serve the sushi with grilled onions and yellow peppers and this time they didn’t so we ask for and they just brought us few peppers for like 4 orders of sushi . And after all that bad service they charged us 30 percent tip a mandatory on parties more than 6. Be advised

This was my second and last time coming to this place. The food is good I’ll give them that but charging 16 percent on taxes is ridiculous. Make sure if they tell you your food will be ready in 30 minutes to actually give them an hour.
