Not a fancy place, a just right casual place. We really enjoyed it. Our server checked is appropriately. The food was good. One taco salad, two seafood entrees and one chicken enchilada. We did not have dessert but did have beer. See the photos for the quality of the atmosphere. We will go back.

Food was delicious! Service was fast and friendly! And the atmosphere was great. You could take the family there, go on date night or eat alone and enjoy yourself! Personally I would have liked more avocado on top but then again I love avocado!

El Vaquero West is one of those rare gems that gets everything right — flavor, atmosphere, service, and value. From the moment you arrive, the welcoming staff make you feel right at home. It’s the kind of place that doesn’t just serve a meal — it offers an enjoyable dining experience.
The fajitas are a standout and definitely worth the recommendation. They come well-seasoned and full of flavor, with your choice of meat, sautéed onions, and peppers, plus tortillas on the side. The portion sizes are impressive — perfect for sharing or saving for later.
Another great thing about El Vaquero West is the value. The prices are fair, especially considering the amount of food you receive and the quality of each dish. You definitely get your money’s worth here.
The service is top-notch. The staff are polite, helpful, and quick to check in without being overbearing. They’re happy to offer suggestions and clearly care about making your experience a great one.
Overall, El Vaquero West is the kind of restaurant you’ll want to return to. Whether you’re stopping by for a casual dinner or planning a group outing, it’s a reliable choice for tasty Mexican food and great hospitality. Highly recommended!

Generally this place is quite good. Came here once before with a big party and it was great. Last time though, party of 6, tight table in a small corner, little room to move, one of our guests did not like what they ordered but we were not able to send it back? Also, the waitress disappeared halfway through the meal, had to pay the check with the manager. Otherwise my tacos were good !

I appreciate they don’t use the toxic black plastic to-go containers but paper cartons.
My family and I have been enjoying take out from here for years but haven’t dined in since 2020. We enjoyed a Friday night dinner here and the service was fantastic, margaritas perfect and made exactly as requested, and food good.

What a surprise! Don’t judge a book by its cover! Inside this unassuming white building is an excellent Mexican restaurant. Great food and inexpensive. Delicious Margaritas that won’t break the bank. Best of all was the service! If you haven’t tried it I guarantee you will be pleasantly surprised.

Popped in for lunch and really enjoyed the food, service, and ambiance! I got the chicken burrito California and it was delicious. Our server was quick and food came out promptly. Would love to come by and try more from their menu. Prices were also fantastic!

A great Mexican restaurant for those looking for a more casual dining experience. This place reminds me of a Mexican restaurant where I grew up that specialized in fast, correctly priced, decent food. The same goes here, the dishes are all solid and efficient with little frill. The portion sizes are great though I did find that the fajita had more meat than the allotted tortillas and beans could accommodate. The stand out though would be the margaritas, their frozen margaritas are very good and not outrageously priced compared to the restaurant across the street. All in this is a lovely restaurant that doesn’t try and over reach but instead nails it’s role perfectly.

Fun atmosphere and great service but the food is seriously lacking. The fajita serving was huge but when it came out for both our table and another table, there was a very strong burning smell. The chorizo was so dry and crumbly and was saturated in some intense seasoning.
One serving of chips and salsa is free, those were tasty, but the fajitas really turned us off and the sopapilla was the worst I’ve ever had. Hard and dry.
On top of all this there is some crazy cleaning chemical smell as you walk toward the door to the dining room. You can smell it in the parking lot and it’s very off-putting right before you are about to sit down and eat.
