Just had the BEST Mexican food at El Vaquero West in Haymarket! The ️ salsa was fresh and the chips were also . The tacos were amazing , bursting with flavor . But what really made the experience unforgettable was the amazing service. Ramiro was my favorite bartender – he’s the ! So friendly and attentive, he really made us feel welcome. The vibe of the place was also on point , with a fun and welcoming atmosphere that we loved.

Cozy, bright inside. Service was friendly & attentive from all 3 people I interacted with. Blue margarita was great. Chips fresh. Salsa was delicious, a bit on the spicy side (very good!) Chicken with Ranchero sauce (I think called pollo loco?) was great – the ranchero was delicious and the 3 chicken breasts were thin & cooked well. The rice and beans that came with it were especially good!! If I lived here, I would be here every week! This was exactly what I needed on my long day driving for work.

My favorite type of Mexican restaurant. Chips were nice and thick, salsa had the right heat to it, plates were loaded, there was a good sized vegetarian section (10+ meals) and the sangria was great. Will be my go-to spot when I’m in that area. It also did the least harm to the wallet out of any recent meal I’ve had out so there’s a plus.

Let’s go 4.5 stars here. Great value for the $$$. Beer on tap. Queso & salsa were fantastic. We made a mistake & got full on the chips. Love experiencing an authentic, non-chain experience. Recommend the ground beef over shredded as I thought it was a bit dry and flavorless. Enjoy amigo!

Excellent service and food here! Their taco salads are BOUNTIFUL with lots of vegetables that typically don’t come on a taco salad (zucchini/squash, cauliflower, carrots) so it’s really unique and delicious. I had enough leftover for lunch and dinner the next day! So it’s kind of like 3 meals in 1. Chips and salsa are so yummy and their guac tastes super fresh. Also, everyone is extremely kind and friendly.Been here twice now and our waitress was Catalina – she is so sweet and attentive! I can’t wait to return to show more family and friends.

Nice large menu. Not busy for a late lunch. Food was very good. Large portions too, at least the burrito was. Service was a tad on the slow side, but was in no hurry. I recommend and would go back myself.

Omg, this place is DELICIOUS! I decided to branch out from my usual shrimp fajitas and instead got the #18 (?), with the bean chalupa, bean w/cheese enchilada and the chile rellano. The best I’ve ever had and they give you soooooo much food for a great price. Quality food. I’m always leery to try anything with cheese (enchiladas, chile rellanos, etc), because some places, they add way too much cheese and it gets coagulated. Which I hate. And it’s super oily. Not here. Fresh and delicious and the right amount of cheese. Definitely will have leftovers! And they are super nice, which always plays a part as well. I love their customer service and their food. They have great options for someone like me who is a full time vegetarian/part time pescatarian! It’s worth it to fight with the parking, that’s how good it is. this place!!

The food was delicious. They have a large variety of Mexican food. The enchiladas poblanas had some great sauce. The margaritas we’re good, not too sweet. This was our first time here and we will certainly be going back. The prices were reasonable as well.
