Went for Restaurant Week menu 2026. Lots of options, Good selections from each section on the menu. I went with Green Goddess salad, Backyard Slider w Sweet Tater Tots, and Candy Bar in a Jar. My wife had the Wedge salad, Charbar Burger Slider w Onion Rings, and the Chocolate Dirt Cup. All was presented nicely, salad side and slider on one plate. My salad was bigger than I could finish. But I pushed the whole slider in. Lots of tot’s, did not finish that, and ate 75% of the jar. Was good and what i expected if not more. Would give 4.5 if they did half stars.

We heard great things about the burgers from CharBar and had to check it out.
We went to an early dinner on New Years Eve, so maybe that was partially the reason for the poor service and lack of ambiance, but it did cause me to lower my rating.
Our server clearly wanted to be somewhere else and was far less than friendly. As a former server twice in my life, I totally understand… but, if you want to be in the service industry, you have to cowboy up and put on a good face for your customers. He did get better as the meal went on, but he was almost downright hostile to start.
Okay, so now on to the food. I got the breakfast burger (GF bun) with a side of bacon cheese fries. I was so excited for a burger with bacon, an egg, and smashed hashbrowns! Overall, it was very tasty. The gluten free bun is serviceable, although I wish they would grill or toast it up for you. My one compliant, is that I was expecting kind of a potato cake or layer of super crispy hashbrowns, and yet it’s just a small amount of soggy hashbrowns that were hardly noticeable. Oh, what could have been! The cheese fries were very delicious.
Service aside, the food was very good. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and we would certainly go back.

The area we were seated in was extremely noisy due to a large loud group seated near us and kind of smoky like something had been burned in the kitchen. Not realizing the size of the burger I ordered a double and it was huge but very greasy and had a really odd taste. My wife ordered the BLT Chicken Sandwich and she said it was tasty. It is a place I may go back to at some point if I was in the area but definitely would not make a special trip to eat here.

We stopped here for lunch since it was right next to the vacation club we were at, and we were very impressed at the ambiance, cool menu, and great service. A lovely young lady named Emily greeted us and promptly sat us; she also waited on us. Emily is great at her job, she made us feel so welcome and not rushed, she went over the menu with us and made great recommendations. We had the Volcano (friend shrimp and topped with crab) sushi roll and also the Over The Rainbow roll (a colorful array of tuna, salmon, and avocado on top!), and were so stuffed, we decided to go back later to try one of their amazing, award-winning burger selections. If you’re in Hilton Head, you should definitely come here for lunch or dinner and ask for Emily!

There was a nice outdoor area where we sat. They had tvs on and offered to change it to a game we wanted but they didn’t have that station. That man was nice. Our waiter seemed a little annoyed he had to wait on us. My husband said the burger was bland – didn’t really have any flavor. My sushi roll was alright but I thought the tempura coating tasted a little weird.

If you’re reading this, just go. We came here day 1 of of trip and loved it so much we came back the next day. Victor and Emily took care of us and both had amazing recommendations (steered me well with my gluten sensitivity). The atmosphere was laid back and the food both days phenomenal. We had the buffalo chicken salad, truffle fries, tots, ahi tuna sushi roll, wine jam burger and another on the the top HH voted burgers. Every sauce and detail of the dishes blew our tastebuds out of our mouth to the point where we considered coming back day 3. From service, to food quality, and cost… This place knows what they’re doing!!!! Can’t wait to come back. Thanks for filling our bellies and making it an awesome Valentine’s Day!

They truly care about how they prpare and present their food. I had a Fried Chicken Sandwich with Buffalo sauce and Onion Rings and it was one of the best casual meals I have had on the island. My wife had sushi and our favorite Sweet Potatoe Tater tots. All of it was delicious. The service exceeded the food! Darren our waiter was extremely attentive to our food choices, keeping the drinks filled without being in the way and allowed us to take our time and felt welcomed the whole time, not just while we were paying.

Went there for lunch and our group had a good time and solid food.
A couple of us went with cheeseburgers and the others got the bento box lunch special.
The bento box was a great deal with a small cheeseburger and some sushi. Black and Blue burger and the spicy Charlie sushi roll.
Our sever was friendly and walked us through all of our options and very solid suggestions on the sushi.
We got a couple of shakes. One straight up and the other one was spiked. Both shakes were very tasty and enjoyable.
Will definitely eat at the Char Bar again.
