A small, unassuming hidden gem in Springfield for Mexican eats. Chorizo burrito was filling and delicious. Both salsas were also very tasty and unique with a great consistency.

Delicious food! Quite hot outside though since no umbrellas had been put out so we got our food to go. That habanero salsa was amazing and had some heat!

Wasn’t expecting much from this place by the looks of it but it was very good! Got the chicken tacos. Spicy salsa was very good, however I was a bit disappointed in whatever green salsa they gave me. You could tell it had been poured some time ago, it had become very gelatinous and not appetizing at all. I also thought $1.75 was a bit much for a can of coke. All around a good experience.

The food cart at El trenecito offers excellent street tacos that remind me of the authentic ones in California. I loved that I could order Carne Asada and have it cooked fresh to order, ensuring its freshness without any grease from earlier cooking. The service was fast and efficient, making it a great choice for anyone seeking real and authentic street tacos. I highly recommend trying the Asada, and if you’re not a regular soda drinker like myself, it’s worth getting a Mexican Coke to accompany your tacos. Additionally, they provide a generous amount of salsa and two tortillas per taco, following the traditional and authentic approach.

Don’t let the unassuming exterior fool you, this is a great little spot! We tried the burritos and asada taco special and loved both. The pinto beans and pico de gallo were uncommonly good (:

This is the best taqueria I’ve found in the area so far, and I make an effort to seek them out. I ordered three different tacos, and everything was cooked to order and delicious. From the tortillas to the salsa, these tacos made me very happy. Not the place if you’re looking for a sit-down sort of ambiance, but a darn good taco spot nonetheless!

Now this isn’t a five star restaurant in the traditional sense. If you’re looking for up scale dining this is the last place you want to dine. Although, if you’re familiar with roadside taquerias you will love this place! Delicious and authentic! Nice selection of meats. We will definitely come back! There are a few mismatching tables and chairs if you choose to “dine in” which adds to its character.

First time I had it, I was like “oh so this is how a burrito is supposed to taste like.”
