Great spor, barbacoa and menudo are definitely worth the stop. The staff and family are great, making you feel welcomed and part of the family. The staff are diligent and make sure you have everything you need. Don’t forget to try the mineral water/lemonade.

Food was super good! Had a very authentic feel. Pretty limited menu but it was excellent. The gentleman suggested getting a half pound of meat and half pound of corn tortillas (home made) and it was definitely the right call. Super great!

I’m from Del Rio and have fond memories of a good barbacoa. I’d been to a couple of places but they weren’t the same. Finally, someone told me about El Toro so I checked it out. AMAZING barbacoa hands down compared to any place I’d been to during my visit.
I don’t usually eat menudo out, but it came with my order so I tried it. The menudo was out of this world.
I highly recommend this place to anyone that wants some great barbacoa and menudo.

If you’re looking for some authentic Mexican food this is your place. They sell tamales, menudo and barbacoa. Everything is made from scratch in the restaurant including the corn tortillas which are delicious (really everything is delicious, the barbacoa is my favorite!). They are only open on the weekends and will close when they sell out. They ship too! Great gift idea for your Texan friends and family who have moved away from Texas and need a taste of home. Stop by, you will not regret it!
