I ordered the tacos and they did not come to play. Perfectly seasoned, juicy, and stacked like they respect you. The salsa? Spiritual experience. Not that watered-down, sad tomato situation. I’m talking flavor, heat, and a little attitude. The rice and beans actually taste like someone cared, which is rare and deserves recognition.
Portions were generous, prices are fair, and the staff treats you like you’re a regular even if it’s your first time. It’s giving comfort, it’s giving authenticity, it’s giving “I’m coming back and bringing people.”

I had a great experience at El Toro The food was absolutely delicious everything tasted fresh, authentic, and well prepared. It’s exactly what you want when you’re craving a high quality meal. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. If you’re looking for a spot with great flavors and a solid menu, I highly recommend checking them out. Ok,I am bias ; Mexican food is my ” Chart topper “. Enter bartendress Senora Vania, she carries an aura of pure goodness ! Happy Hour timing was nice as I wasn’t with a full on appetite , so an enchilada, a crispy taco ,chips, salsa was on point ! Listen to the blender as S. Vania created a ” Na /Virgin pina colada with a peach float , WOWIE , so sweet & icy, smooth and refreshing . Repeat , I ordered a 2nd one !! The 5 stars is a result of Vania, my drinks, her aura of kindness , the chefs enchilada mastery, the server young mans offering if fresh tortilla chips with dual salsas . Also the camraderie as I was flanked both to my left by Stina and to my right Jason. Jason had one of those Lifes tough days and we kifted his spirits at El Toro. Stina shared stories of her precious furry family member, their swims, paddleboard adventures and more. Now you understand how a simple walk in became a treasured 5 star memory experience , thanks everyone ! I just became an El Toro loyalist

Lovely restaurant with gorgeous decor, friendly staff, and delicious food! I had the authentic poblano relleno combo plate and it was perfect. The pepper was tender and lightly breaded with a satisfying amount of cheese and generous sauce and crema on top. Serving size was a bit more than I can finish in one sitting, and the margaritas are excellent.

The fresh tortilla trips were really amazing. Our party even had to ask for seconds it was that good. Though it was our first time trying and didn’t know the portion sizes were very big. It’s really good price to food ratio. Everyone enjoyed their food and we were pleasantly surprised.

It was so terrible that I could only eat the beans and rice (even those required the leftover salsa from the chips), I only took 4 bites of my Pollo ala Crema; my wife had like 5 bites of her enchiladas. When we left the hostess asked how our food was and I said, “amazingly underwhelming.”

The food here is better than most American Mexican restaurants, not exactly authentic Americanized Mexican food. Super quick service, lots of variety, not terribly overpriced but not a great value either.
The lighting and decor here are noteworthy, very cool. The music is typical for the style of venue, loud and Mexican. Very fast faced.

Service was fantastic, polite and knowledgeable on all the dishes. The vibe is cool and looks better inside then it does on the outside for sure.
The food was quick and good sizes for the relative cheaper prices compared to many other in PNW.
The flavors were little softer than I like but it felt like home cooked meal and not restaurant.
I’d say good stop for some good quality food, no perfect but good spot for sure.

El Toro is and has been my favorite Mexica Restaurant in Tacoma. So many Mexican restaurants come and go but El Toro is the OG tride and true.
Never disappointed with the food or the service.
I always feel comfortable at any spot in the Restaurant and the Bar. Tonight, Vania was our amazing server with an inviting personality.
