I was super excited when me and my buddy stumbled across this place. I thought they where the same as the South Orange one. They are not. I would of given them a three star, the place and food is cool.
Their food was good and taste with good portion. The hostess was nice and sat us down. There was about 6 tables being served and it felt like there was a bunch of staff. It took forever to place the order and then all our food came at once appetizers, meal, chips, salsa, everything! Then we were out of water and drank our drinks. I ended getting up and walking over to the pitcher and taking it. We sat at a booth and we could hear the staff talking about regular things. My point is staff heavy and your left to fend for yourself. Maybe inexperienced young staff? I do not know. I will be giving them a second chance. Let see if management figures it out.

This looks like a fun place. The decor is awesome except for the umbrellas. We sat upstairs and half the table had no light due to the umbrella. The temp was humid and definitely needed more AC running. Otherwise, portion size was great, food was tasty and came out fast. I’ve seen the reviews and was worried about how our experience would be. It was definitely good. One point off for not asking if I wanted salt on the rim for my margarita but luckily the Acapulco was delicious. It did have way too much ice in it though and that’s another point off. The frozen house mango margarita wasn’t good at all. The sangria was just mixed and not cold. another two points off.
The Bronx Chimichanga was pretty tasty. The salsa for the table was minuscule but we asked for more. The server overall was nice and quick so no problems there.
Will definitely go back to try more food and drinks. Maybe happy hour too!

My daughter loved the shrimp tacos that she ordered. I wasn’t thrilled with my chicken chimichanga, although it did taste better the next day. The sauce on chicken wings was heavy hot sauce (not heat but taste) but tasted better with the blue cheese dressing. The guacamole was nice and fresh. I rarely add salt and there was none on table but should have requested as the chips are very lightly salted. The strawberry margarita was way too sweet, although I got used to it fairly quickly. Of course, alcohol sinks to bottom and definitely not heavy enough for a buzz.

I was very disappointed with this restaurant. I think management needs to change it’s practices because I do not see this restaurant lasting much longer by providing poor quality of food and bad service. I went to El Toro Loco on a Thursday night at 7pm. It was pretty empty and we still received very slow service. See highlights below:
– Slow service (3 hours most of it was waiting)
– Server spilled chips when bringing to table and left everything there and said “my bad”. Did not offer to clean it up or bring a new batch.
-missing orders/wrong orders
-burned food/soggy cold food by the time we got it (see pic)
-Even the lime used with the drinks were dry and should not have been served
-our waitress was nice but there was a different one that was being extremely rude to her and raising her voice at her. Not sure what was happening but it ruined the vibe for people at the restaurant.
If you want to eat at a Mexican chain restaurant with better food, service and experience, I would recommend that you go to On the Border 10 minutes away.

There were only 2 of us, yet on the check they indicated 6, so that the service charge would be added. I normally tip more than expected and was disappointed to see this.

This is one place that we always like to go to… fantastic food, great drinks… can’t take away the beautiful ambiance… we just love this place!
Staff is great… and very helpful in selecting the right food out of the large choice in the menu.
There are DJ nights… so can stay late if you wish to…

Must not visit… people are not welcomed here, the servers does not care if the guests are waiting.
The food is very average…there are better Mexican restaurants near by.
We order chicken chimichanga and specifically told to serve the sour cream on side…the server did not note that and served the dish with sour cream on the dish, we were waiting for 15 minutes for the sever to attend us, after we told him to change the dish he did not agree his mistake and act very rude.
The other tables were not 6ft apart, the owner and the staff was not wearing the mask properly…removing the mask and talking. Chit chatting loudly in the restaurant.
Not at all a good restaurant to visit.

I like El Toro this time. The service was fast although it was not with a smile. The manager and hostess were very pleasant. My companion said his beer was not cold enough. He still drank it. We had guacamole before dinner it was good but not worth the $9.00 charge. If the server asks if you want guac for the table before you order, remember how much it is. Honestly the salsa and chips on the table are very good and enough. Dinner was good and the atmosphere is nice. Was busy but not crazy for a Wednesday night.

Great Mexican restaurant and bar! Enormous amount of options and even good vegetarian choices. The service is quite friendly and they stive to take care of you. There are chips and salsa on the table that they refill! It is a very large place with interesting decorations. They get crowded fast so if you have time, make a reservation! 🙂
